My comms just said that it’s basically a done deal that Gerloff is going to take Laverty’s seat when he retires??
Sorry for not answering this. I was waiting to see (hear) anything from any of the comms where going to say, and then the news broke and I was so late that I kind of felt ashamed.
Anyway, I'm glad Garrett is moving from Yamaha. The bike is not working (or at least not as much as last year) and for some reason he seems to be overlooked. BMW is looking good and he have a more similar riding style and body like Redding or Baz so he won't struggle so much.
Funny thing, Judit Florensa (my favourite comentarist) said she was confused what the first one to go from the team was Gerloff. It made sense the question because by far the Texan has been a better rider, but I get why he anted an out. He was made to test things that did not work and then it's Saturday and he need to do 2 day job in 1 session. Yamaha is kind of overlooking him in favour of Locatelli. So going to BMW makes much sense.

Eugene Laverty
We have the same podium as yesterday. Rinaldi is in P1 again (Ups, I did it again).
So happy for Gerloff, he has ended in P8 starting from the back of the grid. I'm so proud of him and expected of what he can do in the race (please do not crash).
Laverty has raced and finished in P13, but I'm concerned for Davies, who didn't finish the first lap because he crashed and was touching his right arm.
