Copao
(eulychnia acida)
Also known as tuna de cobado
In case you'd forgotten that dragonfruit (selenicereus undatus, among others) belongs to the cactus family, copao is here to remind you. While not quite as flashy as its cousin, it does steal the many-seeded-pulp look. Found in Chile, the trees it grows on often struggle for moisture, giving them an asymmetrical, irregular look. The fruit is said to be tasty, with an acidic, yet thirst quenching flavour and besides eating it as is, it can be used to make jams, juices, liquors or even sauces for meat.
Have you eaten a copao?
Yes
No, but I've heard of it
Haven't even heard of it
