Alas, I do not play the game anymore so I can't really answer your question. We got some old guides lying around on the blog in case they're still up-to-date with current gameplay. I just post these asks in case someone else can answer them. The most I can help with, personally, is translating stuff.

since they’re discontinuing it, is the whole game going to stop working or is it going to stay on the app store?

It will stop working, since it's an online game. If it was an offline game, you'd still be able to play it though not able to update it or reinstall it.
