Are there any other details hidden in the gingko tress you haven't revealed yet (pls pls pls I'm obsessed with hidden little details authors put into their writings)
Off the top of my head:
- Morax was still covered in blood when he came back to the monastery, meaning literally the first thing he thought of after battle was “where is my wife”
- Li Lei refused to cry in front of Wifey during the first wedding debacle. The only time she is seen crying is when Wifey catches her having a moment and when Wifey is no longer on monastery property.
- Morax’s ring pulsing with his heartbeat is another Howl’s Moving Castle reference. The first was the encounter with the thieves.
- Lihua! For starters, the only reason her name doesn’t fit the other ginkgo kids rock themed names (Feng is a slight exception because his name means “blade,” not “metal”) is because she’s trans. That name would have been her deadname. Also, she’s the metamorphic rock child. Metamorphic rocks are formed by taking rocks, putting them under extreme heat/pressure, and then they’re a brand new rock. Haha trans analogy.
- Spicier hint but Wifey unknowingly has a voice kink on top of a praise kink because it’s ONLY when Morax compliments them that they get all asfjkdehbsfjg about it.
- Jin Hua and Huang Xing, Wifey’s bio parents, have yellow in their names because. Gold. Gold as the Ginkgo Trees.
- This isn’t really hidden because I outright explicitly say it, but beta appreciated the detail anyway: they like that I made a point to say Yaling and Feng are NOT identical because they’re twins. They’re fraternal twins, the only reason they look fairly similar is because they both take after their mom more than their dad.
