Got the new euro mount elk on the wall now.
When I traveled to Germany several years ago I was enamored with the beautiful way skulls were displayed on intricately carved plaques, so I was thrilled last year when a client requested that their whitetail skull be displayed in a similar way. I scored him at 135 green. With it just barely being big enough to make Pope&Young I decided I wasn’t ready to drop $3-500 for a shoulder mount so I’m doing a euro mount myself.

Jessica learned how to do European mounts this year and after doing hers she was nice enough to offer to do mine and a friends daughters skull. I am soooo lucky to have this girl.

I got to work rite away boiling the skull down. This is my third attempt at euro skulls and I think I get a little better each time. I was determined not to use the power washer as much this time because I thought it damaged the sinus cavities in the last one. I had to give it a break and come back in the morning to finish up.
