Russia 🇷🇺 When you think about it, it's only right that Russia comes in as second-best nation of the 2010s given how often they have just missed out on that victory this decade. Which kind of sums up my feelings towards Serbia. I mean they're just alright, aren't they? But due to very loyal neighbouring voters and the occasional banger, Serbia has got some solid results for themselves. Sadly, I think Serbia will mainly be known for throwing a tantrum every time they fail to qualify and changing everything about their entries from the language to the selection process. Estonia 🇪🇪 The best Baltic nation by far - although that wasn't exactly hard - Estonia has sent us many a deserved top 10 finisher...and some other songs they'd rather not talk about. Spain 🇪🇸 Here we go, we're into the Top 25 but I can't help feel that Spain is only here because of that guaranteed qualification. They do absolutely live for that bottom 5 position on the leaderboard after all. Two powerhouse ballads from women who love holding notes may have secured Spain two top 10 finishes but apart from that it's been muy mal for Spain this decade. Albania 🇦🇱 They may be the first nation alphabetically and traditionally the first to select their song each year but Albania are far from first when it comes to performances this decade. Sería delito no empezar con la que considero “LA GANADORA MÁXIMA DE EUROVISIÓN”. Euphoria es la mejor definición del Eurovisión que hoy día conocemos: un tema intenso, con bajos potentes y un estribillo motivador. Una canción que empieza y acaba con fuerza. Sobra decir que la puesta en escena sencilla y efectiva, y la gran calidad vocal de Loreen hacen que Euphoria sea la ganadora absoluta de Eurovisión en 2012 (y en mi opinión de la historia, con permiso de ABBA).
Han pasado 6 años y todavía la escucho día tras día. Cada vez que la escucho recuerdo la primera vez que la escuché en 2012, cuando todavía no estaban todos los temas del festival, y dije “¡Es la ganadora absoluta!”, y no me equivoqué. También siento motivación y ganas de seguir adelante en un mundo cada vez más... “extraño”, vamos a decir.
