Suborder Euryalina

(Basket Star)

is a group of echinoderms (seastars,sea lilys, sea urchins and sea cucumbers). they in the same phylum as brittle stars (ophiuroidea). they have the unique characteristic of many branched arms that give them their name basket they use these many branched arms to catch prey that happens to move close to them. they can grow up to around 70cm and weight around 5kg, also they have a fairly long live span of around 30 years. despite contrary belief they can walk and do so using their water vascular system of tube feet like other echinoderms.
