Since Grievous can't eat nor drink, I headcanon he gets some form of fluid intake by A4D injecting tubes through some opening. These fluids include vitamins and minerals he needs to survive and stay stable. Of course when A4D does checkups, he has to comment if the nutrients are imbalanced, much to his master's dismay.
"A lack of magnesium of all things, master?"
