Experimental roadside EV-charging vehicles
JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) and Nissan jointly started an experimental emergency roadside charging service to the electric vehicles in Kanagawa prefecture on the 7th.
Nissan has begin the sales of the electric vehicles last December, but since there still aren't many EV-charging stations available yet. Thus, they have also developed special EV-charging vehicles. By offering the emergency roadside charging services, they hope to promote their electric vehicles by reducing the worries of the consumers.
The experimental service will continue till the end of this year. JAF will examine if the service is sufficient; duration, amount, and ease of charging will be verified.
