*suddenly having floods of emotions and memories coming back*
That scene where Shinji is on edge after Unit 03 goes Angel and it’s set against the Twilight sun while really foreboding piano music plays..
I can’t stress enough how perfectly the whole aesthetic of the show harmonizes in the episodes before Instrumentality; the sort of lost, sulking air is just perfect.. Ritsuko’s constant brooding in the last few episodes is just so perfect, especially considering all the revelations of NERV’s history and ulterior motives finally falling together
The tension is especially perfect after episode 24, which seems like the calm before the storm, and then the condensed climactic feels machine of End hits ^^
Eva why must you be so evocative and force me to write gushing text posts on the Internet
Oh yeah I missed a whole bunch of my other favorite scenes XD
Asuka’s reunion with her mother is just.. so touching and ultimately so tragic, and the sort of divine chorus that plays makes it seem like such an intimate, peaceful moment ^^
Then there’s the scene where Shinji is drifting off into his own mind while trapped inside of Leliel - that whole episode just cultivates such a perfect atmosphere, it’s hard to put into words. The music is somewhat minimal and feels really serene but otherworldly, it reminds me a lot of the Ghost In the Shell soundtrack actually - just this perfect expression of the human consciousness
Oh and Fly Me to the Moon of course, which for some reason strikes me as a perfect ending theme
So I’ve been having lots of thoughts spinning around in my head, so might as well spew them onto an internet microblogging site :3
I joke about always thinking about Evangelion but I literally kinda do, and it’s just.. the most wondrous thing. I’ve never felt so immersed and intimately connected with anything else; Eva pushes all my buttons just the right way and its wonderful ^^
It’s really hard to be verbose when talking about the effect the overall aesthetic has on me, since that’s heavily emotion-based and hard to nail down, but yeah.. it’s just, so amazingly perfect
Eva has such a beautiful combination of sound and visuals that I’ve got whole scenes memorized down to the last detail in my head, like Ode to Joy playing over Kaworu’s descent into Terminal Dogma, or Shinji’s conversation with Yui.. I want to say depressing but I suppose melancholic is a better word ~ the visuals of Instrumentality are weird and detached from reality but it doesn’t feel forced; it genuinely does feel as though the world has just sort of dissolved together, and the haunting piano chords of Rei’s theme just accentuate it to such a lovely degree
It’s amazing how I absolutely adore even minute details, like the design of the entry plugs, or the characteristic hum the Eva cockpits make, or all the visuals and graphs of NERV which seem older and quite different from the modern style of “futuristic” visuals, but not in a bad way at all ^^ they’re just so distinctly Eva and charming

Hello yes, let’s talk about EVA’s abuse, friend.
Yes, because holy shit I felt so fucking awful for her. I wonder how she did deal with it after she got back home, she's seems like a really heartfelt person when she lets the façade down sooooo. Plz no more bad things for EVA.... ;;
