I really hope we get more crew-development in Disco S5. Since moving into the Good Era™ they've made some nice steps into expanding on little traits shown by the bridge crew here and there, and they've given a greater importance to different characters at different times. It's nice to see, but also I wish they'd do more.

My primary example is Nilsson. Oh Nilsson, my beloved. You know her name is Eva, right? Well, the canon is unclear - she's just credited as Nilsson in the show, but in the accompanying character voice logs on Instagram, she's listed as "Eva Nilsson".

If you read up on it, you can see that there are writers' room ideas and initial concepts floating around that the writers and actors are aware of, but they're just...left there.

I so desperately want them to lean into the supporting cast more. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the format of the show limits how much that can be done somewhat, and that's ok. We don't need, say, an episode exclusively following Owo or Nilsson - that would be rad, don't get me wrong, but it isn't the only way to do it. They just need to be brought forward alongside Michael more often.
