#kimickaphotoaday April Day 28: Favorite(s) Evanescence has been one of my favorite bands for a LONG time. Like. A LONG LONG TIME. I’m pretty sure my introduction was Bring Me To Life, but, like, I remember borrowing my uncles copy of The Open Door for weeks at a time and playing it on repeat for hours. I think my sister and I used to even have it as one of the CDs we fell asleep to. (Along w/ Gwen Stefani’s The Sweet Escape, and others in our 5 CD changer stereo, lol). But, honestly, all of Evanescence’s music is just so good. And no one can match Amy Lee’s vocals. And I had to post about them for this prompt because I have been listening to (almost) nothing but Evanescence since their new single, Wasted On You was released 5 days ago. I don’t currently own a physical Evanescence album, which is why you get this collage. Lol. I should work on getting physical copies. Twenty years ago today, this album was released to the world. It is definitely one that made a HUGE impact on me. It helped me through a lot. It had a massive influence on my taste in music as it helped me discover so many other bands. Fallen and Evanescence was just the beginning of so munch more music that has really taken over and impacted my life as well as inspired me with my art and writing. Music has also been there for me big time as I’ve gone through things. It’s saved me in ways nothing else has because it’s helped me feel what I couldn’t explain with my own words. I owe a lot to this album for being the beginning of the music that’s helped hold me together through my best and worst times, inspire me, and so much more. It deserves this recognition.
