We have this great tradition in our city that happens the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. We light the Christmas tree in the center of town and holiday cheer is abundant. This year you could purchase an ornament with a ribbon on it to acknowledge a special person or family that would go on this tree. I purchased an ornament for Evan and had hoped to find it after several attempts to look for it. I found it today and was not really prepared for the emotions it would create. Missing you today and always. Monday’s Child is Fair of Face…You arrived nearly 4 weeks early weighing in at 5 lbs. 10ozs at 8:48pm on Monday November 26, 1990. I remember walking the halls of Woodland Hospital as my water broke at 1:30am and there really isn’t any turning back once that happens. So many things I could say about that day and the 9,480 days in-between. So much of what I read from your baby book said you were a sweet baby. You were!! That you were contrary. You were! But mostly that you were happy. Except for a few times people stole your food you were amiable, loving, opinionated, loved leftovers, and you were a “Zookeeper of Introverts”. Today I will do my best not to cry too hard although I’m not starting out well. The 747 days that have gone by without you have felt like a lifetime for me. I decorated for Christmas today which hasn’t been something I’ve wanted to do but I know in your Evan way you would like it. Anyway, I miss you son! Every moment of every day and I wish more than anything you were here with us. Happy 3rd birthday in Heaven. Go have oysters with my Dad and give Nancy a hug.
