I asked my good ol' friend @6nimus9 to give me characters from creators in @creators-lounge that I technically haven't drawn before (and my blog has some cobwebs- wait what). And so here are the results of those suggestions! They were all very fun to doodle, much love <3

DUDES!!! THIS FIC!! I read this fic a long time ago and is still such a good read. FIrst of all it’s amazing, it’s well written and is so easy to read, so smooth. 

Second it has Dragons, DRAGONS!!! Damien, Butter and Kenny are Dragonoids and is so good. It scratch my dragon boyfriend itch.

PIP IS WONDERFUL.

2. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most? She actually prefers using the crossbow, because she likes to be relatively further from combat- that said, she knows she isn’t as strong with it as she is with Occam’s Razor, so she sucks it up and uses the sword anyway. She dislikes using any weapon that limits her mobility.

4. Who did they look up to the most as a child? Who do they look up to as an adult?She looked up to her dad as a very young child, but grew out of that pretty fast- now, she doesn’t look up to any one specific person, but rather different traits in a variety of people. 

6. What languages do they speak? Do they have any idiosyncrasies or identifiable patterns of speech, word usages, etc?She speaks Common, Elven, and Halfling, and passable Elven Sign. Her most obvious pattern of speech is that she tends to say “I guess,” “I think,” and “I suppose” a lot even when she’s pretty certain of herself. She also swears more often the ‘younger’ she feels- in situations that remind her of her childhood, when hungry, very scared, or when talking to Seva.

8. Do they eat a healthy diet? A varied one?She eats anything that won’t kill her, so it is pretty varied. Whether it’s healthy depends what happens to be available, but as a habit, it isn’t healthy.

10. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe?It’s pretty hard to get her to feel safe and secure, though she’s been closer than usual lately, up until they entered the Feywilds. Warm, soft blankets, having plenty of food available, and people she trusts make her feel safe. Possible betrayals or dangers coming from the people she’s with, inadequate food supplies, animals, and being unarmed make her feel unsafe. 

12. Do they sing or play any musical instruments, even if just for fun? How well?

She can carry a tune, but doesn’t particularly often.

14. What are they like when they are drunk?If Evania’s ever drunk, it’s because somebody tricked her, so she would be terrified and want to get un-drunk as fast as possible. 

16. What do they think about where they currently live? If they could move elsewhere, would they?She doesn’t really currently live anywhere in particular- she would like to, theoretically. Faraven sounds nice to her, as long as they can guarantee they’ll have enough food.

18. What foods do they eat most often? Do they enjoy it?Lately she’s mostly been eating smoked pork, which she stopped enjoying about a month in, and whatever stews Vita has come up with, which have mostly been good. She’s not hard to please, food-wise.

20. Do they like to travel? How do they pack and prepare?

Evania’s been having a stressful albeit rewarding time traveling so far. She prepares by hoarding food and, apparently, friends. 

22. What are they like when they get sick? Do they have a particular system (ears, lungs, etc) that illness gravitates to?She doesn’t get sick often, but when she does, it tends to be gastrointestinal issues from having a) eaten something stupid or b) having been starving awhile and then shoved food down her face too fast. When she was little she was prone to sore throats as well, but it’s been awhile since that was a problem.

24. How do they react to being physically injured or undergoing medical treatment?With fear/the feeling that she’s going to owe the healer. She doesn’t like feeling vulnerable. 

26. How much do they eat, and how often? Do they drink appetite suppressants (tea, coffee, etc)?When she first stopped starving she was snacking practically every waking hour, now she’s calmed down a bit so she’s just eating about one extra meal a day. She drinks tea or coffee if they’re offered to her, but not for the purpose of caffeine or appetite suppression. 28. What is a gift that they have received that was especially touching or significant?

Desdemona’s mask, and Bivir’s hunter’s horn both mean a lot to her.  

30. Do they have any allergies or chronic conditions?

Not that she knows of, but I think if she spent more time around cats she would find out she was allergic to them. If she’d ever slept in the forge, she would have woken up with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and itchy itchy eyes.

Happy 20th anniversary, Mirror Image!

(The actual anniversary was a couple of days ago, but it’s the 20th anniversary of the first group picture I did for the story, so I figured it’d be fitting to post this up today.)

My original plan for this was to actually redraw the original, just in my current style.  But that wouldn’t have included two of the Electus Uni that we had come up with after the fact, so I had the idea to, instead, draw something in the spirit of the original, that would include those two characters.

Like, the idea here is that the original was the before – when they first arrive in Melohdia and having no clue what the hell is going on.  They find Geoffrey and Leilani later – Leilani much later – so in the very beginning, it was just four characters.  This one represents the after, when everything’d said and done and they’ve decided to remain in Melohdia rather than return to Earth.  (Because I believe that was always the end game, that they would remain and continue to be Uni and help out and all that.)

(I won’t lie, part of the reason I decided to go that route is mostly so I can have Shizuka and Sethos holding hands, lol.)

In any case, from left to right we have: Shizuka (with Tonbo on her shoulders), @anijeltaventry's Sethos, @callistochan87's Evania, Geoffrey, @swankifiedcos' Freyja, and Leilani.

Everything in the picture actually revolves around the little dragon there.  Evania is making some kind of remark about him while Shizuka responds, while the others look on, for the most part.  I did have the idea of having the walk the other way, being all symbolic and all that, but I could visualize it going the other way. 

So, like every other time I draw these guys, I had a couple of new ideas pertaining to them.  This time its sort of involving their roles in the group.  I basically simplified it – like, Sethos heals people, Evania has holy magic, Leilani sees the future in his dreams, Freyja is super strong, Shizuka is super fast, and Geoffrey is a master of all weapons.  But I also assigned them actual roles within the world as well – Evania is a priestess, Leilani is a shaman, Frejya is a Valkyrie, Geoffrey is a pirate (lol), Shizuka is a Dragon Tamer, and Sethos is a…healer, go figure.

Basically what I changed was Shizuka, where she was a samurai, but then I realized that I used to draw Tonbo with her a lot and I was like…well, what if she was the Dragon Tamer rather the her Guide (who is someone native to their kingdom that travels with them?)  It does actually make a ton of sense.  Like, they all master the weapons they are given, with Geoffrey mastering any that’s handed to him, so Shizuka would still know how to use her katana.  But this is just an added thing where she can hear and connect to Tonbo.

In any case, this is just me blabbing.  I really like how this turned out!  They all look really good together, and I’m pleased with the posing.  I mean, it really does look like they were walking somewhere and stopped to have some sort of conversation, and I love that.  And all their outfits turned out super well, I am so happy about that.  Its always neat to revisit old designs and see how much better they look in your current style!

I’ll probably end up redrawing this is ten years, lol.
