four years later...
It was a nice day today. I got to shop with Daisy the last things for the baby's room. Everything is prepared for his, or hers, arrival. We don't want to know what we are having. It's a surprise. I am so curious to know! I'll love my baby no matter what he is, of course. But I want a boy. I want him to be like Cameron. Cam says he has no preference. Don't know if it's true but that's what he kept saying to everyone.
It's almost time and I am really anxious about it. I feel like a whale, a huge one, and my feet hurt...a lot! I can't put my high heels anymore. And I can't sleep properly so I can't wait for the labor day. But I'm terrified. And unprepared. Maybe I should've gone to those preparation classes Cam talked about, and almost convinced me to go. We got to the door but all I could see was beautifully happy couples that made me want to vomit. And then there was me and Cam, not knowing what to say to each other. I just turned my back and begged him to take me home. We are better now. We talk. Not about us specifically, but about our baby. He came with me to every doctors' apointment, he helped me get everything ready in my house... our house, but he still doesn't stay here. He goes to the firestation every night. And there I was, preparing dinner for me and Daisy, she has been staying here with me, when the bell rang. It's Cameron. I was certain. And I was right. "Hi, H. How are you today?" he asked, with a little smile in his face while looking at my gigantic belly. “Hi Cam. I am fine. My back hurt a bit , but it's normal. Come in. Do you want to eat something? I'm making dinner”, I asked hopefull. “Yeah, I'll come in. But I'm not hungry. Thanks, though. I need to talk to you. I need to tell you something.”
Bump watch?
Life in the Firestation
Heather hugged him. Not wanting to let go. “I am sorry...” “You've made your choice a while back. Maybe you should've think about that in that time. Maybe things could have been different.” “I know... but Cameron is the right man for me. I know it.” “Yes. He is. And you'll be happy. So... Take care.”
“I love you. Always will.”
