Avoiding stress in schools
Students being stressed are and have always been a very common thing; nonetheless, it’s still nothing to take lightly. Nowadays, about ninety percent of doctor’s appointments are because of stress, or stress related problems, such as obesity, hair loss, depression, acne, lack of sleep, allergies, as well as various hormonal and heart issues. This being said, what can schools do to make this problem less normal?
Aside from peer pressure, homework and projects, school-related stress is because of exams and grades in most cases, so, something schools could do to keep students more relaxed would be to provide the help of tutors, which would not only help them to be more prepared for the tests, but would also make them cope with their homeworks a lot faster. This way they wouldn’t be so stressed, because they would have better grades, and the possibility to get them in an easier way; so they wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed by their studies, and would have more time to find leisure activities outside of school.
Another thing that schools should do to avoid students being so stressed would be to remind, or make it clear to them, that there is more to life than good grades. What I mean by this is not that they should not give importance to their grades, just be aware that they don’t reflect their knowledge or intelligence whatsoever. Students tend to over study just to get perfect marks on their test, because they feel they will look stupid if they don’t, but teachers should make them see that it is better to get average grades but really understand the topic rather than learning everything the night before, but forgetting it after the exam.
-Bitte schön
Languages have specific words which are used in also specific ocasions and that can´t be translated at all.
One of those words is the expression "Bitte schön" it is a german expression used commonly.
"Danke", means Thank you and "schön" means a lot or very much, so it can be said that together, "Danke schön", means, "Thank you very much".
The word "Bitte" means Please but also means You´re Welcome, and based on the paragraph before, together, it would be "lots of "you´re welcomes" or "You´re welcome very much", of course it is something that we do not say.
Neither, Spanish or English, have a specific expression to say "Bitte Schön"
STRESSFUL?
Nowadays, the Word stress has become very common in and part of people´s life, it´s even more usually in student’s life. In exams period, students get really stress because school programs have many subjects such that there are many things to do, exams and quizzes, projects, homeworks, essays, expositions and the list can continue and continue, due to this, schools are implementing some methods in order to help their students to be more organized.
One of those methods is planning a structured revision timetable prior, students feel that they do not have enough time to do the entire things they need and have to do, but the reality is that young people do not know how to organize their time. A time table is a real useful tool to organize what they have to do, if students have clear which exams they have, when and all the correspondent details, they will be not at stressed as they are now.
On the other hand, the second method is the idea of having some relaxing and leisure activities so students will be stressfree. This method has a huge variety of benefits, when someone is relaxed; he or she will be more concentrated and will do their activities better, in addition, relaxed and leisure activities will help students to have a better development.
Being stressed makes people do things incorrectly but also causes headaches and illnesses, it´s important to implement those kinds of methods that are useful and that will help students to me more organized, the benefits; have better results and averages being healthful and the list can also continue.
WHAT DOES "GIGIL" MEANS?
It is a philippine word which is used when someone has an extreme urge to squeeze or shake someone or something, usually brought about by a cute or irritating object. A lot of filipinos associate the word with a cute child that makes them want to squeeze his or her cheeks. But it is not always a sweet feeling, people can become slightly violent: when people get frustrated with someone they can have a "gigil" reaction too. It is a gut reaction, a surrender to cuteness or frustation.

What is tutear?
From the Spanish. It is a way of speaking. This is used in many ways, for example when you talk with somebody you know, or if you are talking with someone that has your same age. It is the informal way of speaking. In many parts of the world is more common to listen to this way of speaking rather than the formal one that is used in offices, universities, when you are talking to elder people or even to people who is not consider as elder but that is older than you, etc. Because is the way people talk with their friends, families on the street, for saying it in some way.
Stress during exam periods
Often students get stressed during exam periods because they have a lot of subjects and as a consequence they have many examinations and lots of things to study. Most of the time students get stressed because they say they do not have enough time to study which in my opinion is not the problem. The real problem is that many of them do not know how to organize their time and as a result they do not study enough. Also nowadays they have a lot of electronic devices which are a distraction. Just like those, there can be several things that can cause stress in students during exam periods.
The support from tutors could be a good idea because that would be a space where they can study with patience and also with the help of somebody. As well that person could solve their doubts in case there were any.
A structured revision time table prior to exams could also be a good idea because doing such thing could help them check all the topics seen in class and also the teacher could solve their doubts.
In my opinion this is the best option because it helps students to study in an appropriate way, for saying it in some way, and also because doing so is going to make them feel prepared for their exams and that could reduce the stress somehow.
For me both methods are great ones. As everything it depends on the person who is going to chose them because every person has a different way to study.
STRESS IN THE EXAM PERIOD.
You cannot seem to focus, even the smallest things get to you, you feel anxious and worried most of the time, and sleep hours never seem to be enough. These are just some of the most common symptoms when dealing with the most stressful week of all the marking period; “Exam week”. What is it about this particular week that gets the best out of all of us, students? Is it because of the quantity and variety of subjects that we carry? Or is it the amount of homework and the overall work given to us? Or is it just because we do not study enough? It can be just one or all the previous really, when it comes to “stress”, each student deals with it in a different way. But there are, however, some methods proposed to help students carry on during this outrageous week. I will explain two particular ones that I find helpful.
Teachers are there for a reason, to help you. Take all the opportunities you can to talk to them and explain them all your doubts; they will help gladly most of the times. When talking about “tutoring” not only teachers will do the trick, ask for help among your friends and colleagues, it will surprise you how much they are willing to help you. And most importantly if you do decide to get the help from a tutor, make an effort! People will always help you with what they can as long as you show real interest in learning, so always do your best.
I have discuss earlier how much, the smallest things get straight to your nerves, sometimes even taking a five-minute break will help loose the tension. This leads me to the next method, “Having time for relaxation and leisure activities”. Take some time to indulge yourself, step aside from everything and everyone for just a minute and take a deep breath, it will surprise you how much it helps. Finding something to do besides staying until two in the morning studying will reduce the amount of stress you carry above your shoulders, common activities such as gardening, drawing and exercising will allow you to forget about the stress, even if it is just for a moment.
As a fellow student I understand perfectly how stressful, not even exam week, but life can get at some points, but we need to remember that not everything in life if getting straight A’s at school. We must learn to enjoy what comes across our faces and as one of my favourite songs from Frozen, to “let it go”.
