Eve & Flynn | make it out
“We're gathered here today to witness the eternal union of Flynn Carsen and Eve Baird...” [The Librarians Season 4 Promo]
A Million Reasons
By: Outsiders Obsessor
"I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away. But, baby, I just need one good one to stay." Flynn thinks the new LITs and his new Guardian are holding him back from his duties and solo life of adventure as Librarian. What he doesn't realize immediately is that they are his new reason to stay at the Annex.
Written for Evlynn Day One as part of the #librariansshipathon!
The Librarians and the Eternal Question left us with 3 questions
1. Who was Jenkins love, the woman who stole his heart? Someone from Camelot or from later on, will we ever find out (probably not).
2. What was Flynn about to tell Eve? Was he going to propose or was he going to tell her of the deadly twist if he has to use the Eye of Ra?
3. Why is the Library’s swimming pool blessed once a week and who blesses it? Does the local parish priest pop in to the Library, have a chat with Jenkins and then perform the blessing or is it something supernatural?
I should feel scared right now but I don’t. I feel grateful. To you. And to the library, for bringing me so much joy. Goodbye, Eve. No. I won’t let you.
eve x flynn, reading
“What are we reading tonight, Viv?” Flynn asks, and their daughter contemplates for a moment before she selects a book, clambering up onto the bed where Flynn was waiting. “Charlotte’s Web? That’s Mommy’s favorite.”
Eve looks up from where she’s rocking Sam to sleep, smiling as Flynn flips the book open.
“Your grandpa used to read me that book every single night before I went to sleep,” Eve tells Viv, catching Flynn’s eyes and smiling, soft and warm.
“And now you read it to me, Daddy,” Viv said quietly, beaming, and Flynn nodded, kissing the top of their daughter’s head.
“There was nothing special about Somerset County,” Flynn starts, Vivienne settling against him.
eveflynn + coffee shop au for your prompt bingo!! (i am a sucker for those aus, you don't even know.)
She gets the same thing every time- french vanilla coffee, skim milk, and lots of sugar.
It’s a simple order, but she drinks it like it’s ambrosia when she takes the cup from the redheaded barista whose name tag reads Cassandra with a cute little sun next to it. He’s captivated by the sunlight reflecting off her blonde hair- it’s wavy and falls around her shoulders, and when she opens her eyes, they’re a bright blue. He swallows, dropping his gaze- they’ve been coming to the same coffee shop for nearly a year now, but he has yet to try to talk to her.
He goes back to reading his book- he has a lecture to teach in an hour on Camelot and the historical accuracy of the legend, and he’s making some final notes from a book Jenkins in the History department had found for him. He’s jotting down some messy notes- they overlap in places where he’s had another thought in the middle of taking a note on something else, and he squints, trying to decipher two sentences practically on top of each other.
“A King Arthur fan?” he nearly jumps out of his skin at the melodic voice above him; the blonde is sitting herself at his table, placing her cup down and smiling at him. His jaw drops, eyes widening in shock, and she just smiles, setting her purse down. “I’m Eve, by the way.”
“I- uh. Flynn. Carsen. I’m Flynn,” he says, stumbling over his words before he sticks his hand out- he almost knocks over her cup, but she just smiles, shaking his hand and looking at his notes.
“Oh, are you teaching that course on the accuracy of Camelot?” she asks, interest in her face. He nods, and she smiles again, lighting up her whole face. “Mind if I sit in? I don’t have anymore classes for the day and I’ve heard a lot about this lecture.”
“I’d like that,” Flynn said, a grin sliding on his face. Eve takes a sip of her coffee before she reaches forward, fixing the carnation in his buttonhole.
“There you go, Librarian,” she says, winking, and Flynn feels his cheeks flush.
“Thank you, Guardian,” he quips back, and he delights in the surprise on her face, a pleased pink hue to her cheeks that bleeds down to her chest. She’s radiant, and Flynn’s breath catches in his lungs. I don’t believe in fate, he reminds himself.
(yes you do, his mind whispers back)
