ok. I have nothing good to do. i am in quarantine. and I wanted to know the actual age gap between my otp.
here we go.
Iceberg’s suicide was in ‘97, and Gears was born in *checks wiki* 1956, he would have been 41-42 back then.
[Ice worked under Gears for around 8 years, which means that Gears would have been… 33-34 when they first started out. Assuming that Emotionless took 3-4 years to kick in and there was a good ~2 years where the o5 left him the fuck alone and he left Alison when she was 8 but already had a foot in the Foundation for a while (2-4 years???) AND there was an overlap between Emotionless and Family (according to Black Queen hub he grew more and more estranged before breaking it off completely) he would have joined at… 26-28?]
ok, now let’s focus on ice. the “Dr” implies he went to college, according to his personnel file he worked at a military base, the “progress on research” I will assume took around 1-3 years, but since we know that the Foundation hands out the title “Dr” like free candy (no WAY clef actually got a degree have you seen the man) we can’t be sure if he actually GOT a doctorate/master’s. But. For the sake of assuming let’s assume he did get a Master’s. That would be 5-6 years, and let’s also assume he went straight into college after high school. He would have joined the Foundation at around… 24-27 years old. Assuming again that he spent 1-2 years just kinda drifting before he got assigned, Ice would have been around 33-37 when he killed himself.
The age difference between them would canonically be 3-10 years (depending on bday months, if you don’t count them it would more likely be 4-9 years)
the headcanons of a 4 year age gap are somewhat correct. barely correct, but still within the realm of possibility.
and for the Gearsberg ship (because that was originally what I wanted to know):
assuming that they took around 2-3 years to get together, it would have been 35-37/27-32, not 20/60. It even abides by the “1/2 + 7” rule (37/2 + 7 = 25.5). hallelujah.
alright caculations over if I ever have to do math again I will scream I HATE MATH so i probably got something wrong. call me out if I did but i did my best 😭
Is it sad that I’m so bored that I’m excited to have math homework again? I haven’t had math homework in like two years. I’m a theatre major. but GenEd classes are a thing so here we are. The point is.... I’m so bored and I miss people so much that I’m happy to have math classes again.
I PASSED ALL OF MY CLASSES
Are we all ever okay?
homework is so much better with a copilot
(btw this is Marlo, she’s a good fur baby even though she eats pencils and toes)
i need to study for my latin exam tomorrow bUT i’ve already had three exams and this is the last one so i don’t have much energy anymore AND as if that’s not enough i also got my period today and the first day is the worst (cramps, headache, exhaustion, backpain UGH no thanks)
