I finished reading Homunculus. Is was a pretty disturbing story. The cum and blood eating parts were v disgusting. The main character suffers terribly but i was hoping to see him die a grousome death due to the rape scene earlier in the manga. The manga seems to focus on Freud's psychodynamic theory that who we become is based on conflicting unconscious thought patterns between the Id, ego, and superego. The mc has forgotten himself and through a long process of trail and error he realizes that while he can see the "hearts" of others he can't see his own. In the end he goes searching for some who can "see" him and turns up empty handed. The strangest thing is you never find out if what he was seeing was actually real or if it was all just hallucinations. Lastly, I was disappointed that he didn't die painfully and slowly but is whisked away by policemen and doctors wearing his face.
