SAD NEWS: Nickelodeon and Disney Channel actor Jansen Panettiere, the brother of actress Hayden Panettiere, has died. He was 28. Kasey Kitchen, a representative for the actor’s sister, confirmed the news of his death on to CNN and ABC News. The outlet TMZ first reported the news, revealing that Jansen passed away over the weekend in New York. His cause of death is unknown and an investigation is underway, according to his sister's representative. Law enforcement sources told the TMZ they got a call to a residence on Sunday evening. Police say there's no foul play suspected in Jansen's death. Born on Sept. 25, 1994 in Palisades, New York, Jansen was five years younger than Hayden and followed his sister into acting from a young age. He made his television debut in 2002 in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens and had a small role in the sitcom Hope & Faith, starring actress and television host Kelly Ripa. He went on to do voiceover performances in animated movies and TV shows including Blue's Clues, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and The X's. In the latter, he voiced Truman X, the super-smart scion of a spy family. Panettiere later appeared in several TV shows, including alongside his sister in the 2004 Disney Channel movie "Tiger Cruise." In 2007, Panettiere starred in the Nickelodeon television film "The Last Day of Summer" as Luke Malloy, an incoming middle school student who dreads the start of the school year and wishes the last day of summer would repeat itself. His last television role was in season 9, episode 15 of "The Walking Dead" in 2019, where he portrayed Casper, a member of the Hilltop Colony. His sister is asking for privacy in the wake of his death.
