she merged the newly acquired chips into the growing stacks before her, sipping the glass of champagne set aside for her. small sips, layla had to nurse this first glass as long as possible, otherwise she’d be gone before the first fireworks were sent off. “are you going to have a seat?” she asked once a shadow casted over the table, though she hadn’t fully looked up from restacking her winnings. motioning to her right, she continued, “i believe those two spots just opened up.”

do our eyes deceive us? has our wish come true at the eleventh hour? his royal highness, prince ettore arrived in monaco with none other than his wife, valentina, the crown princess of spain. 

somehow, someway, she dropped what she was doing for an evening out with the same man who dressed as the lorax just a couple months earlier? we do have to say, though, he cleans up well. (we’re still investigating how serious ettore’s halloween costume was. . . does this man speak for the trees? we may never know). 

ettore came dressed in a tom ford suit jacket and trousers, kingsman shoes, and a custom green velvet bowtie to match his wife. #couplegoals. he really put forth an effort, living up to his unofficial title as trophy husband (and a tall drink of water if we have any say). the prince has never looked happier attending a royal event, his smile truly reaching his eyes — he even waved for the cameras! 

fingers crossed we get to see more of these two in 2022, instead of living vicariously through ettore’s sappy instagram throwback posts.

emerson whitmore, ceo of dataminr and first daughter of the united states surprised us with their appearance this evening. having spent the past few weeks in the homebase they call silicon valley, we weren’t sure if the trailblazer would have time for a little ol’ party such as this! 

their ensemble is from alexander mcqueen’s pre-spring/summer 2022 collection, and it is a fun twist on the standard suit we typically see emerson in. turning a new leaf perhaps? they top off the outfit with a pair of louboutin slings, all black, of course, minimal makeup and jewelry from their personal collection. 

emerson refused to comment on her mother’s political status now that the first year in the second term is winding down, the only statement provided to the press before heading inside was to expect great things — whether that be from their mother or themselves is yet to be determined.

her royal highness, princess layla musa osmanoğlu was seen arriving at casino de monte-carlo, arm in arm with her husband as they attend the new year’s celebration. the pair have kept public appearances minimal following the birth of their daughter but spared no detail with the last outing of the year.

layla attended the event in a sparkling plunge number from zuhair murad’s fall 2022 collection, paired with four-and-a-half inch casadei pumps. while a member of the turkish royal family, the princess is known to always include designers close to home. her clutch comes to us from egyptian designer okhtein, a silver piece with as much pop as her dress. we have to say, though, the clutch suits aslan as well, as he was spotted holding it whenever layla was seated at a card table. she provided a comment to the royal times before entering the casino, stating any and all of her winnings would be donated. one can hope she ends the night as a top earner!

on to another egyptian designer near and dear to layla’s heart. both rings and her earrings come from azza fahmy. the earrings are gold and sterling silver hoops adorned with garnet stones, and “حب” (love) and “فرحة” (joy) inscribed in the center. her rings are gold and sterling silver, also adorned with garnet stones. honestly, we’re having to squint from how much light is reflecting off her, egypt’s own little firework.

“so, your birthday is at the end of the month. . . valentine’s day is only a couple weeks after that.” he paused in faux calculation. ettore’s arms were wrapped around her waist, hands at the small of her back. everyone swarmed valentina when they arrived that they hadn’t been given a moment alone. he wouldn’t dare miss midnight with her though. “my birthday is in july so. . . it sounds like you’re stuck in the program longer than a month.” he’d never been one to appear smug, but i told you so lingered on the tip of his tongue. “face it, you’ve enjoyed being around everyone again.”
