Something Tells Me You're Freezing (CA Closed Event: Peacock)
Something had indeed gone quite wrong. Snowdrift had gone to District Five for the day...only for the power to go out midway through the evening and cold to settle on the District. Perhaps the entire city was suffocated by it. Snow had begun to fall, great big fat flake that swirled through the air and soon built into dense piles that made walking difficult. Snowdrift was once again grateful for his natural fur coat, and for his thick undershirt under the warm uniform of the Shado-Pan. Conditions were oppressive, but he could endure.
But only a fool dared test the elements for long, and Snowdrift took shelter in a small convenience store. The owners gawked at the huge Pandaren, but they were shivering too much for Snowdrift to take them seriously. He had nothing to fear from them.
But the conditions soon changed quickly. Snowbanks seemed to have built almost instantly on the sides of the streets, and there seemed to be a shimmering at the end of this street.
Snowdrift suddenly saw gigantic forms emerge from the snow...and the unmistakable roar of a bear. Snowdrift's blood did not run cold at that sound; he was quite capable of issuing a similar noise himself if injured, but it put him on edge at once. The katana at his side came to his hand at once, the bright silver blade gleaming in the dim light of the evening. Not even the streetlights were functioning properly.
The huge Pandaren murmured a prayer to Xuen, the White Tiger, as chaos seemed to erupt at the end of the street. A great white bear seemed to appear out of nowhere just as Snowdrift emerged onto the street, and it swung a huge paw at him. The Pandaren whirled away hastily, met the creature's eyes, and saw cold malice reflected in those blue spheres. The bear roared with frustration, gathered its balance, and swung again. This time, Snowdrift met force with force. But the powerful, feral bear's claws swept even the hardened Pandaren to the side. Staggering, Snowdrift ducked a wild swing and then landed the first blow, a thrust that seemed to gore the white bear's right shoulder.
The bellow of the wounded beast was substantial, but Snowdrift ignored it, planning his next attack. It was at that moment that a second bear, larger than the first, charged through the falling snow and launched itself at Snowdrift. The Pandaren's eyes narrowed and he jumped away once again. "Well...this isn't how I planned on spending today." He muttered as he surveyed his two opponents: two huge bears, both of which were far larger than he was and neither of which was in a mood to talk to him. He became aware of a young woman near his position and asked, "I don't suppose you could help me-" Before he could finish speaking, the big Pandaren had to tuck himself into a roll and throw himself to the right as the second bear charged him once more. He succeeded...narrowly.
