Once we receive all the claims sheets, we will shuffle the artist names at random using a shuffle bot. Then, we will start from the top of the shuffled list of names and go through each of each artist’s lists and assign them a fic off their list. This is why we ask for artists to pick fifteen fics as it makes the pool large enough to pull from.
Once all fics have been claimed, you will receive an email containing your partner’s sign-up name and email. Please be patient when contacting them for the first time as it might take them a while to reply. Your partner may be from a different time-zone or have a busy schedule and might need time to reply.
If you do not get a reply instantly, please do not take to the discord server and complain about not getting a quick reply as it could be hurtful to your partner as they might have not been able to respond right away for a number of reasons. Be respectful.
That being said, if your teammate does not reply to you within 48 hours, attempt to contact them again. If another 24 hours passes and you do not receive any form of contact please email us at the MAMB Bang Email and let us know that you have received no reply from your partner. We will attempt to contact them for you.
Topics of Discussion with your Partner after Claims Assignments
These are the topics you should address as soon as you gain contact with your partner:
Introduce Yourself and Establish your preferred form of contact.
Would you like to be contacted through email (discord, twitter, etc.)?
What are your timezones?
How often do you want to communicate?
What medium or type of art are you planning to create?
What weeks are you available to post during the posting period?
Are you open to suggestions?
Send your artist a copy of your draft so that they may begin reading them and coming up with ideas for what they would like to create. Do not tell your artist what to create. An example of this is pointing to a scene and telling them it’s the only scene they are allowed to work from. Doing so could create an unpleasant bang experience for your artist and we want everyone to be able to have fun. However, if your artist asks for suggestions on what they should create then feel free to give them.
Please remember that all forms of art are accepted for this bang. That includes Traditional Art (watercolors, marker, pencil, etc.), Manips (Manipulated Images or Photoshop), Digital Art (drawings created on an Ipad or computer), Mood Boards, Etc.
Please make sure you are communicating with your author about what you are creating. Forms of this kind of communication could be telling them about the ideas you have, sending them a WIP (work in progress) of your bang piece, etc.
