“I hope this is working...” There’s a black screen, with Nagito’s scratchy voice barely cutting through. “I don’t usually make video updates. I think my camera might be broken. How unlucky...” There’s a stifled edge to his voice, as if he’s barely holding something back.
“As many of you probably know, Hajime and I have been a bit on the rocks lately.” The end of the sentence dissolves into manic giggling.
“I planned on doing something awful and horrible to make him angry with me, didn’t I? Something to really catch his attention!” More laughter.
“And I did! Ahaha! Wait until you see what I did!” This time, he holds the laughter back with a snort. “And I’m mad at Kamukura too. I want to get back at him. I need to do something to make sure he knows that I’m angry with him too.”
There’s another pause, and a long stretch of silence.
“What could I do to accomplish all that?”
“Do you have any ideas? Anything at all? What could I do?” Another round of giggles fires off, and then...the camera slowly turns upward to reveal--

“Ahahaha! I bet you weren’t expecting this, huh? I’m back in Despair! I’m a devoted Junko follower now! I’m going to start a killing game and spread soooo much despair, because I love despair so so much!”
Hibiki rubs his eyes, ignoring the makeup that comes off on his palms. They burned from exhaustion, one that lingered in his vision and made everything fuzzy and foreign. After getting home from work, he hadn’t slept, too afraid to miss The Phone Call. And when, by morning, The Phone Call didn’t come, he started making a few of his own.
It started with a call to Hiro’s lab. He was passed up the line to various different people who seemed no more equipped to tell him where Hiro was or what he was working on than the last. Finally, he was sent to a dead end number that rang and rang and rang before going dead. It took hours. To be precise: 2 hours.
Then, it was a call to the police, trying to report Hiro as missing. He sat on the line giving what little information he could to an unenthusiastic officer who he couldn’t be certain was even taking down the details. By the end, the officer explained that, based on what Hibiki did know, Hiro’s disappearance would be outside of their jurisdiction. And without information as to where he went, they couldn’t hand it over to another unit. There was a small promise to look into it before the line went dead. Another waste of time: 1.5 hours.
Hibiki spent another hour wracking his brain for other numbers to call-- the airport, who couldn’t hand over any information without the ticket information (45 minutes); Intelligence headquarters, who insisted they couldn’t disclose where Hiro went without proof of a familial relationship (30 minutes); and finally Hiro himself, to no avail. Total time spent: 2 hours.
As he lay on the couch, an entire cycle of day and night without a true moment of rest, Hibiki thought of one last number to call.
Without hesitation, he picks up his phone and begins to dial.
A mysterious robotic bird that acts as a sentry. No one is sure where it came from, but it is known to attack anything- robot, human, or animal- that comes into its designated territory with sharp bladed talons. It produces a sort of mist, possibly due to malfunctioning steam parts. Its designated name: P3T 540P

“Um, hello everyone, sorry to bother you this late at night. But I... I’ve been hearing noises at late hours of the night for weeks now, like there’s some kind of intruder in the apartment, but I never got to see them until... well, until tonight. I finally managed to snap a picture. You can barely see it, but there’s someone definitely there.”
“I’ve been trying to calm Mahiru down, but she’s too troubled to listen to me, it seems. And before you ask, yes, we asked around, it’s not any of our friends. This is a a complete stranger, and no one knows anything about them.”

MISSING BENJI
After a prank taken too far by Aiden, Benji has spent the last few days avoiding Po Town altogether. Sent on a separate mission to scout for Pokemon by the Team Skull Leader Guzma, Benji finds himself crossing paths with the last person he’d ever want to see again. With the situation he soon finds himself in, Benji discovers a particularly dark truth, as well as just how much he means to other people.

Nagito had awoken feeling bright eyed and energetic for the first time in a month. For once, he jumped out of bed as soon as his eyes opened, a task on his mind and the excitement to do it actually in his head. And he had worked on it all day, this task he had set himself. It felt so good to do that. To have energy again, to become wrapped up in a chore or a project so much that the time went by whether he noticed it or not. No more laying in bed feeling bored and empty. Now he had something to do, a purpose for waking up, and something that would surely fix everything.
And he had worked at it all day. There were occasional breaks, of course. He went to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner so that he and Hajime could eat. Hajime needed food, and Nagito did too if he wanted to do his best at this task. And of course he did some cleaning. The essentials: the dishes, some laundry, and tidying up the bathroom. He didn’t want Hajime to have to live in squalor, even if he was busy working on something else.
He worked on it all day, and by 8 O’Clock at night, he had finally finished. Or, gotten to the point where he felt like he was finished. He had been working on his laptop, in his study, all day long. Now, he finally pushed back from the desk, rubbing his bleary eyes. Even though his eyes were blurry and his vision fuzzy from staring at the screen for so long, for the first time in a while, his mind was in complete clarity.
