"switch." y/n passed her book to remus and took his in return. she smiled as she turned back to where she left off in his book and saw his annotations. she loved this tratidtion of theirs. sitting in her window seat, slightly squished together as they've gotten taller as they've grown up. candles lit in her room, cups of iced tea on the small table set beside them. it wasn't perfect but it was them. and thats what mattered

rain pattered on the window beside y/n as she read through her second book of the day. she glaced up at kaz, still at his desk bent over his paper work. "you need a break." he huffed in response, not looking away from his work. "kaz... i'm not joking, you've been there for hours. come on." she stood up and walked to him, pulling the pen from his hand and moving the stack of papers away from him. "come sit with me." with a sigh, he tried to hide his smile as he stood up and walked to the window seat.

"this was a great idea." the wind pushed the hammock just slightly as the two of them laid there, limbs intertwined as they held each other. "i've been known to have a bright idea here or there." a chuckle fell from y/n's lips as they looked up at james who was smiling down at them as they laid their head on his chest. with school around the corner things get a bit stressful quickly, but it's moments like this, stolen from time where they can just lay in each others arms. these moments are cherished by the both of them.

"this. just relaxing, you know? we haven't had time like this in a while." y/n didn't look up from his book as he spoke. kaz smiled to himself and reached over to link his pinky with y/n's. silence washed over the two of them in waves. calm and comforting, their presence being their only anchor.

"are you done reading yet?" james walked up, hair stuck to his forehead since he was just in the water. "not yet, love." y/n flipped a page in his book, not looking up when he answered. james smiled to himself as he watched y/n focus on the book in front of him. he moved to sit next to him, the hammock swaying as he did so. closing his eyes as he sat down, enjoying the sun on his skin as the comfort of y/n being next to him.

"i didn't understand a single thing." she laughed at her boyfriend, leaning into his side, embracing the comfort he brought her.

i’d love a male ship from the marauders era of harry potter and my perfect end of summer day (which i classify as a late august day with deep humidity and heat) is going down to the ocean/lake shore with friends and playing recklessly in the water (every game you can think, diving in if it’s a lake, play fighting, racing, etc) until the sunsets and dusk arrives and then just sitting on the shore and sharing a bottle of wine and quiet conversation as the realization that summer is over sets in

"marls! you're my partner, c'mon!" marleen rolled her eyes and walked over to him, "if you drop me potter, you're dead." both y/n and marleen got onto the boy's shoulders. "may the best team win."
