First up, my take on Sunny Starscout!

So one thing I've wanted to do is change names to be more similar to traditional pony names, so her new name is Sunscout Shines.

Sunscout is an Earth Pony living in Havengait, one of the last few kingdoms of Equestria. It's predominantly populated by Earth Ponies and ruled by Sunscout's aunt, Queen Cloverleaf.

The story follows the rough events of A New Generation. She's still looking for the pieces of the Unity Crystal to bring back magic, but it's less bc she loves magic and more because she's trying to prove the legitimacy of her late father's research.

She's spunky, friendly, and energetic, but a lot of that gets lost after her father's recent death. Instead, she's become quiet and reserved and distrusting of others, but through the events of the movie she finds herself again

Got this AU I'm cooking. Calling it the eventide au. Where darkners can go into the Light World but only at night. And they can effectively assume the form of a lightner so long as it's still dark out. Brighter it gets in any given space, though, the harder it is to hide they aren't humans/monsters. I made this au up so I could make a human design for Tenna and occasionally have him lose his marbles over the fact he can't stay in the Light World where he so obviously wants to be. Pure mental tortureslop for the TV man. Who is attempting to woo his lightner y'know. His lightner who probably thinks he's like. A vampire. Since he only wants to do stuff with them at night. But it's somehow worse thn that. Given he's a television. I know all this stuff you like because I'm uh I'm your TV. But I'm not gonna tell you that. And ruin my chance. To fuck you.

The final characters of the movie crew: Zip and Pip!

Zip Zephyr is the heir to the throne of Zephyr Heights, destined to be the next queen. Or, at least, that was the expectation. When Zip's cutie mark first appeared, his mother, Virtuous Valor, took great lengths to hide it from the kingdom, refusing to let them see the shattered crown which his cutie mark portrayed.

As he's grown, he's learned much about himself, including that he doesn't want to be queen at all. He's a stallion, he's secretly realized, not the princess his mother had raised, and certainly not the future queen. He wants nothing more than to escape the public eye and this life he's been born into, so when a unicorn and earth pony show up one day speaking of mysterious research and say they need a pegasus' help, Zip is on board.

Pip Piano is the youngest of the twin princesses and adored by all. She's cute, sweet, perfect, and a treat to the public eye unlike her older sister. There are whispers across the kingdom that Pip should be the future queen instead, and Pip doesn't quite think she'd mind that. Her mother, on the other hand, is solely focused on Zip, and despite her attention, Pip feels invisible.

Spite towards her subjects and mother have all coalesced in one direction: towards Zip. She hates her older sister, and hates her even more when she catches Zip sneaking out of the kingdom with a couple of prisoners. Determined to bring Zip back and prove her imperfection to their mother, Pip teams up with Trailblaze to track down these criminals and drag Zip back to the kingdom.

Renamed Trailblaze, this is a stallion who's been through a lot. His father is the head of the royal guard in Havengait and that leaves a lot for Trailblaze to live up to. Since his cutie mark first appeared, Trailblaze's father has convinced him that it meant he was destined to be a knight, and Trailblaze believes it. No matter if he isn't happy in the slightest doing this job.

He is Sunshine Starscout's personal guard, but the two were once incredibly close. They grew up together alongside Sprout, Sunshine's cousin, and the three were inseparable until duties got the best of them.

So, when Sunshine goes missing, rumored to have left Havengait with a unicorn, Trailblaze volunteers to find her and bring her back, no matter the cost.

The meeting of the Sun and Moon...

So in this AU, Sunscout is far less enthusiastic about meeting a unicorn. While her father, Brilliant Image, attempted to teach her openness, he was working against a kingdom as powerful as Havengait which opposed all other pony races. Sunscount ends up distrustful, so when she finds a unicorn hiding in her father's old lighthouse, she panics and tries to shoo her out.

That is, until Moonlit Rainbow reveals that she can read some of Brilliant Image's research.

Previously thought to be a cipher of sorts, Sunscout realizes that some of his research is written in a language only unicorns can read. The two piece together what they can, but there's still much that can't be understood. Sunscout realizes that she must need a pegasus to read the remaining. She elects to set off towards the kingdom of Zephyr Heights to find a pegasus willing to help. Eager not to be alone again, Moon insists on coming with.

The two ARE endgame in this au. Throughout the journey they come to learn a lot about each other. Moon learns what it's like to be accepted and loved for who she is, and Sunscout begins to re-acknowledge the parts of herself she locked away after her father's death.

This is Princess Moonlit Rainbow, daughter of Prince Bismuth and granddaughter to Queen Fire Opal. In line for the throne of the Briarwood Kingdom, she was adored and celebrated greatly as a foal. As she aged, though, the popular opinion on her waned. She was odd, quirky, improper at events, unable to sit still or stop talking long enough to be respectful. She was, truly, a poor example for a princess.

While her father hardly noticed, her grandmother pressed her to behave herself, and yet Moon struggled to do so. Certain there was something wrong with her, Moon set off on a journey to discover herself, abandoning the Briarwood Kingdom entirely.

Her travels lead her to the kingdom of Havengait, a land of Earth Ponies. Perhaps in this abandoned lighthouse she will find what she needs to be proper...
