hi, abby. I was wondering if you could explain how you got inspiration and started working on your towns. by this I mean how did you determine where to put what and what would look good in the grande scheme of your whole town. I'm currently struggling to get my town to the way I want it, mostly because I can't envision anything that I think would look nice. If you have any advice, that would be extremely helpful. thank you! ~
first of all i’m so sorry for how long it’s taken me to answer this! my answer isn’t going to be worth the wait at all either i’m hopeless with questions like this. i try not to think too hard about where to put stuff etc., generally when i try to plan something it just ends up looking terrible and not at all how i imagined it. maybe think about the space around where you’re thinking of building, for example i knew i wanted my campsite to be surrounded by cedars so i made sure to build it in the north, but not too close to the tracks that i couldn’t plant trees behind it? for me generally it was trees lol, i wanted to be able to plant them everywhere so i tried to have enough room between everything for them. like i said my answer is completely hopeless, but there’s a really good town building guide here in case you haven’t seen it! good luck with your town!
