Ehehehe. Everington is the General of Pravafield’s army/police force/security (the Guarda), and no, he’s not a particularly nice person.
He’s not your typical power-hungry person in command who is out of touch with the reality of the people; rather he was very fortunate to rise to this position from the very bottom of society - he knows what it’s like down there, and he’s glad to have escaped it but he also wants to bring about change for other people. But he’s very embittered and tends to not make the best decisions about how to exert his power.
