"I'd like to argue I'm always very gallant, you just don't generally see it past the beard and flannel," Liam offered in joking retort, before taking back his card and receipt and stepping back with Evie as they awaited their food and drinks. He gave her a once over, if for no other reason than to see if there was something new about her affecting the more casual, less formal Evie he was often so used to, but didn't catch any sort of jewelry or the like the indicate a new direction.
He grinned again and raised a brow, "It's good to see you, Evie. I hope everything's going well, what with all the new changes and hubbub going on around here. It's been a bit upside down, as it is."
The Irishman was wearing his usual dusty attire. Jeans with some grease or oil stains, in lieu of a flannel today was a more tan/beige work shirt with arms rolled up, and his typical boots with soles caked in a bit of mud and grime.
"How have you been?" Almost reiterating his earlier question in a more direct way.
"Or maybe it's just been so long since I've seen it, that I need a refresher" Evie volleyed back without missing a beat, complete with another giggle. She could only imagine what he must be thinking, as she stood before him with only the usual color to her cheeks hinting at the affect he had over her. And that affect was just as strong as it had always been. Her expectations, or lack of, were the only things that were different.
As they stepped back, she turned to him for a proper greeting, rising on the toes of her Prada-clad feet to place a kiss to his scruffy cheek. They both seemed to look each over then, both the action and the differences in their appearance striking her as almost comical. But there was nothing funny about how wonderful he would always look in her eyes.
"It's good to see you too" She replied softly, smoothing her springy floral sundress. "And that's one way to put it. I'm good though, finally. All healed up" Evie put a hand to her collarbone, recalling the last time they had seen each other. "My shop was was..completely destroyed. That was really hard" She sighed softly, then smiled. "But I opened a new one! My own clothing designs. It's..not doing all that great" The skater admitted with a laugh "But I have high hopes and big plans!" Bright eyes took him in once more, as it was just so damn good to see him. "How about you? You looked so tired when we last saw each other.. I was worried"
