His gaze settled on the tome in his lap to allow himself a moment to think before he spoke again.

Ameridan still wasn’t sure how he felt about the woman. She reminded him of Vivienne, though perhaps a little less...stoic? No. That wasn’t the right word. Both had an air of power and authority about them, but Angela’s was more tolerable.

~{I think he doesn’t like the Grey Wardens because he seems to know more about the Blight than the rest of Thedas - he hints that killing the rest of the Archdemons (as the Wardens wanted to do in DAI) would not stop the Blight, and may only make things worse. Basically, I think he believes that they’re messing with something they don’t understand. There’s a lot of theories that the Evanuris (specifically Andruil) may have something to do with the Blight - so it’s possible it could tie all the way back to the Ancient Elves.}~

          “ — th’only time I get called in? Is when th’situation’s bad.”

     The gunslinger’s lived through his fair share of injuries while working for Blackwatch — almost too many gunshot wounds, quite a few broken bones, countless concussions — it was more than enough for him to know that Angela was downplaying the damage from her fall. Something wasn’t right, but nothing was outwardly alarming as he glanced her over — a bit scuffed up from the tumble, but otherwise, she looked fine. Leading Jesse to believe the situation might even be worse than he originally thought. If it’s something internal, he was in trouble...

     But before he could worry or even think about trying to help, he needed to know what he was dealing with. The last thing he needed was to do rush around and end up doing more harm than good.

     “So, now ain’t really th’time to act all tough — y’can’t play hero if you’re dead, Ang. Th’others are gonna be fine, jus’ tell me what’s goin’ on so I can get ya outta here.”
