HEY BESTIE!!! Did you see the DLC announcement!!!! It looks incredible!! And the changes to the characters is really making me wonder how much time has passed. Thoughts and feelings about the trailer?? ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
OH YES
ASCENDANCE!!
Thoughts below:
For real tho, I was curious because the character who looks like Nata seems all grown up, but the other characters don't look super aged—just some clothing and hair style changes.
I'm sensing that maybe some years have passed—maybe the teams went back home, but then Nata sent word that he found something—the new locale, which is somehow in the sky. Alma being so choked up that the boy she adopted in the desert appears all grown up.
I feel as tho Seikret mobility is going to be greatly used given the terrain of the new locale. It seems to be a lot of mountainous and/or detached rocks/pillars that we'll need to get to. Not to mention all the wind gusts that could be used for gliding.
Onto the MONSTERS:
Elder Dragons:
KUSHALA MY BAE—I personally love this elder dragon, so I am very happy to see it return. And Lao, whom I never got to fight before, is hopefully gonna be good.
I'm someone who actually doesn't always like new monsters being added but appreciates the return of originals. To me, it feels like seeing an old friend again, so I am very happy to see Kush and Lao.
Along those lines, I (along with many others it seems) hope to see Valstrax return. The area would be perfect for its mobility.
I also hope to see Teostra/Lunastra (I am very biased for these two, I love them so much)
Shaguru Magala would just make sense given the presence of Gore Magala—one would have to shed and turn golden at some point
I overall hope we just get more elder dragons in general besides Kush and Lao
Other Monsters:
The new monster from the trailer (Bird Wyvern??) gives me Quropeco vibes, but the movement we saw gives me hope that Valstrax could return. Obviously, with a new area comes a new monster, and this one seems unique.
But as I mentioned, I am a favorite of old monsters returning over new ones. An oldie is a goodie—usually. That being said, here is my hope for returning monsters:
DEVILJHO AND RAJANG—give me my invaders back. I love the pickle and the punch monkey and everyone needs to experience them. Wilds gave me Gore Magala and Lagiacrus, now give me my monke and my pickle.
I just get the feeling of Legiana when I look at the locale—something about that monster's movement feels like it would fit well in an area amongst the clouds.
I care little for Khezu, but a lot more for Gigginox—it needs to come back. It's been so long, and that pendant that Gemma had looked like a Giggi I swear
Ajanath and Odogoran—the actual ones (subspecies too), not the guardians. It would just make me happy, but I'm not hopeful about it
I am always willing to give any new monsters added a try—they could become a favorite of mine like Rey Dau did
Subspecies:
I feel like whenever there is a big expansion of the main game, subspecies of the monsters previously are added, so I hope we get some subspecies of monsters such as Rey Dau or Ajarakan or something
I would also love subspecies of the returning monsters—not just ones that will be added in the expansion, but things like Azure Rathalos or Pink Rathian, the Metal Raths, Ivory Lagiacrus, Mizutsune subspecies, Deviants, and the like.
It's a tall order, but the skeletal systems are already present. Just some appearances and attacks would change—but I have no idea how complex that might actually be
ERIK
MY BOY
FOR THE FEW SECONDS I SAW HIM IN THE TRAILER HE LOOKS SO HANDSOME
THE HAIR—THAT LIL SCARF
*SCREAMS*
I can't wait enough for 2027 where I can drag that bug boy all around the sky with me. Alma better make room because I ain't leaving Erik behind—he's my handler now.
Seriously, I hope I'm (no Alma hate actually but you know my love for Erik runs deep) not stuck with her for the whole story expansion—and that he's able to tag along in some cases
ANYWAY—super looking forward to this! Hope we get to see more hints and updates in the future!
Seikret is an animal mount whose remarkable agility will offer the hunter vital assistance when on the trail. Its keen sense of smell enables it to lead you autonomously to your current destination or any point you choose on the map.
