Evernight & Nicknames
At first, Dick just addressed Ever as Rebel, (their vigilante personaâs name) cause he had nothing else to call them.
But as they grow closer, he eventually starts to call them by a few nicknames, (particularly because Ever uses lots of names)
like u got the easy ones, like Wynter or the more commonly used Evs or Ev, but he is eventually inspired by Everâs creative nicknames and starts to branch out.

but some do
The silliest, or maybe most poetic, is âDandelionâ, sometimes shortened down to âLionâ
because Ever really does have lots in common with the flowerâtheyâre both stubborn, bright and resilient. Not to mention being associated with wishes.
Ever, meanwhile, has been using nicknames since the very beginning.
The OG nickname, is, naturally âBirdieâ
what once was a nickname associated with contempt, slowly becomes more affectionate.
and with affection, comes variation.
Now, Ever is 100% the kind of person to call friends pet names, so even before the two were romantic Ever would occasionally call Dick things like âbabeâ or âhoneyâ and even âdarlingâ and âloveâ on occasion
They also use older or British petnames, like âdollâ or âpetâ.
Dick never did get completely used to them and is consistently flustered.
(when they got together the petnames became even more common, and are part of the reason Dick determined to come up with some of his own)
