Overview of Features

Here is a brief overview of the features and options available to you at EveryCall.us.

Lookup any telephone number that you receive by typing in the telephone number here.  You can enter the telephone number in a variety of formats including (xxx) xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxx-xxxx or xxxxxxxxxx.

File a call report.  After you've searched for the telephone number of the call you received, you can file a report so that others can read what you submitted.  When filing a report, please provide as much information as you can about who called, what they wanted, the name of the company or agent, contact information of the caller, and write that in the Call Comment box.  Additionally, please select a Call Type (telemarketing, prank call, political, survey, etc.) and write in the name of the caller or company in the Who Calledbox.  If you don't know that is ok, leave it blank.

Show Map.  Clicking this link will expand a Google map which will display the location of all of the comments reported for this telephone number.

Call Category.  The category of call that has been reported by EveryCall.us users is displayed in percentages by category.

Comment Voting.  You can vote with a thumb's up or down on comments you found helpful or comments that weren't.  The best comment as voted by the community will be displayed at the top, making that information easily accessible to other users.

Comment Flagging.  You can flag and report any comment as Spam, Inappropriate, or Harrassment and it will be reviewed by an EveryCall.us moderator.  Comments which are illegal, harassing, contain profanity, or are deemed inappropriate will be removed.

Reply to Comments.  You can reply to any comment by clicking the reply link.  You do not have to create an account to comment, but doing so will save you time and has a bunch of other benefits.

Leaving a Call Comment - Tips and Suggestions.

Leaving call comments and suggestions are the most important component of EveryCall.us.  We've compiled a brief list of tips for leaving the best feedback possible about the call you received.

Call Comment.  Provide details about the call you received including:

Caller name and/or company name.

What was the caller calling about?   What did they want from you?

Provide details such as their telephone number, address, website, etc. if you are able to get it from them.

Call Type.  Selecting the correct call type helps us categorize the call correctly.  You can pick one of several kinds of calls, such as telemarketing, political, surveyor, etc.  This information will be used to correctly identify the call type and will be displayed on each call comment page.

Who Called?  Provide the company or caller name only if you have this information.  If you don't know or aren't sure, leave it blank.

Research.  If you want to go the distance, you can do some research on the Internet to determine more information about who is calling and leave that information in your first post or you can leave a followup comment.

Providing the best information possible helps users with Do Not Call Complaints or complaints with the FCC, helps local law enforcement investigate fraudulant calls, and gives people peace of mind knowing who's calling.

Report a Phone Call to EveryCall.us

Have you received a phone call from a telemarketer or other unwanted or unknown caller?  You can submit a Phone Call Report to the EveryCall.us community and find out who's calling you.  It only takes about 30 seconds on average to submit a call report and other users can then respond back to you with information about the phone caller.  You can then use this information to contact the company or individual and ask them to stop calling, or you can file a complaint with the FCC or your local law enforcement if they don't stop calling you.

A Different Kind of Voting

Given the political atmosphere in the U.S. right now with the presidential elections right around the corner, we want to highlight one of the more useful features at EveryCall.us, and that is exercising your right to vote.  You can help determine the best comments and bring them to the forefront by voting. And we've made it easy for you.  If you read a comment that was particularly helpful, vote by clicking the thumbs up icon under each call comment (see the image below).  By doing so the most popular call comments are automatically moved to the top of the list and highlighted in green.  That way folks researching telephone calls in the future can quickly access the most relevant information first and save time scrolling through potentially hundreds of comments to find what they are looking for. Conversely, if you feel that a comment isn't helpful or useful, you can give it a thumbs down so people know to avoid that comment.  While we don't move or delete unpopular comments, we do highlight them in red.   Visit EveryCall.us today, submit your call comments and don't forget to vote!

Comment Notifications, Caller Information, and More Horsepower!

We are excited to announce a host of new features that we've implemented to better help you find out who's calling and put a stop to unwanted telephone calls.  We will release a series of blog posts in the coming days describing how to use each of these new features, but for now we wanted to provide an overview of all of the changes we've made.  Without further ado, here are the new features: Comment Notifications by Email We received a lot of feedback asking for comment notifications.  The problem was that when you left a comment about a call you received, you never knew if someone had responded or left more information unless you checked back often.  Problem Solved! If you have an EveryCall.us account (if you don't, sign up now!) you will notice a new link in the user control panel called "Manage Comments".  Clicking on this link takes will display all of your comments and will give you the ability to opt-in or opt-out of receiving email notifications.  You can also turn all comment notifications on or off from this screen. When someone leaves a comment about a telephone number you reported, you will receive an email with a link to the new comment, making it easier than ever to find out who's calling you.  You can also opt-out of receiving future email notifications about that number directly from this email. Now you can be kept in the loop about any telephone number you've reported. Caller Information Box The caller information box will appear in the results of all telephone number searches and contains the Caller Name, Caller Location, and Call Type (if available) for each telephone number.  We've also added the ability to purchase a detailed call report from our partners at ReverseMobile.com to get detailed information such as the caller's name, address and contact information. Redesigned Call Comment Form We've updated the call comment form to make it more intuitive to leave call comments and get feedback from other EveryCall.us users about who is calling you. Remember to provide as much information as possible when posting a comment, including the Caller's Name and what they were calling about. Tell-a-Friend If you think EveryCall.us is a valuable service, we've made it easy to tell your friends and family so that they can inform themselves about who's calling them.  We've created a Tell-a-Friend form that you can fill out with your friends email addresses and a message from you.  They will be sent a brief email informing them about EveryCall.us. We encourage you to keep your comments, ideas, and suggestions coming as we work to improve our service in the future!

Every once in awhile we run across a comment from a user that is so well done that we want to feature it for everyone to read in our Blog. Thanks Mike!

My name is Mike, I live in Brampton, Ontario, and I too have been receiving phone calls from this company, which as far as I can tell is called MCS (Mutual Consolidated Savings). They are located in Tacoma Washington, but appear to be affiliated with other similarly annoying companies. Their web site is: www.mcsprograms.com/products.html Phone numbers that are definitely associated with this company are: 323-429-7525, 1 877-891-1348, and 1 800-943-3250. Like many of you, I received unsolicited calls from this company wanting to lower my credit card interest rates, by way of a recording. When you press the button and someone answers, and you tell that person not to call, they hang up. Here’s how you get them to stop calling: They operate an office which is open 9am to 5 pm (Pacific Time), Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 11 am on Fridays. During these times, they do answer the 1 800-943-3250 number which is where you can have some fun. It looks like they only have one phone operator on this line, and she will likely put you on hold at first. I just hang up and repeatedly call them. I was put through to their compliance officer who identified himself as Chris. Chris is obviously the owner of the company, and you can hear his voice on the recording when you call 1 877-891-1348. I told Chris that if I received one more call, I would call his office during business hours 100 times for the first call, and double that number for every subsequent call received. They did call, and so I annoyed them for about two hours a few days ago, each time telling Chris or whoever answered the call what my phone number was, and that I was phoning to remind them that the calls received from them were unwelcome. Chris lost it. It was quite entertaining really. The last time I called, he told me that he had phoned Bell Canada to complain (and provided me with a bogus tracking number), and that he had reported the matter to # 18 Division, Toronto Police. The fact that the Toronto Police Service doesn't have a # 18 Division, and that I live in Brampton and not Toronto I think was lost on poor Chris. Also, since the intent is to have him stop calling me, there is no criminal offence associated with this (not that he could do anything about it anyway, because it is a summary offence in Canada, and nobody is going to do anything about it.). The legislation is contained in section 372 of the Criminal Code if you are worried about it, which is pasted at the end of this post. In summary, phone this company repeatedly at 1 800-943-3250 during business hours, remind them that the calls are unwelcome, tie up their phone lines for a couple hours, and two things will happen: the calls will stop, and you will exact a little revenge. It is immensely satisfying.. Oh, by the way: tell Chris that I referred you. I am sure he will remember the name. (3) Every one who, without lawful excuse and with intent to harass any person, makes or causes to be made repeated telephone calls to that person is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.

EveryCall.us Adds FCC Complaint Data

April 7, 2009 -  EveryCall.us was started with the goal of identifying unknown callers and helping people stop unwanted telephone calls.  Today we're excited to announce that we've added to EveryCall.us information from the ultimate database of telemarketing complaints, the Federal Communication Commission's Do-Not-Call database.  With information from over 100,000 complaints from the past two years, we've taken a giant step towards meeting our goal and have made this data available online for the first time to consumers. The FCC complaint information is indexed by telephone number and contains information such as the caller name, telephone numbers, and the nature of the call (telemarketing, junk fax, prerecorded message, etc.) if available.  This information combined with user contributions will provide the most complete listing of known telemarketers, telephone scams, and junk callers available.
