Adventures In A Year Like No Other
I wrapped up 15 years in New York and moved back to LA. We got engaged and bought our first home. And after decades of dreaming, I finally made it to the Amalfi Coast. I wrote, directed, produced and released my first studio film, premiered new music videos, edited my first novel, wrote new scripts, created new pitches, worked with several new clients, and other awesome things to share in the…

Adventures In Biking New York
Adventures In Biking New York
When I moved to New York fifteen years ago, I promised myself that when the time came to leave, I’d bike the perimeter of Manhattan. And so I have. And so we did. Passing all our places of work, of communion, and love. That spot there, and that place there, and oh God, remember, that corner there? A simple ride was always the goal. Even after a bike nearly broke me whole. Of course…

May 2021: Monday Adventure
My queen & I had today off so we took the dogs to the vet for their annual. On the way home, we stopped by the grocery store to get some coffee. I ran in while my queen stayed in the car with the dogs. I was only in the store for a few minutes when I got a call from my queen. The car’s battery was dying so she needed to take it to the shop. I told her to go on & I’d just walk home with the groceries. The store is about 2.6 miles from the house so she asked if, I was sure. “Yep. No problem.”
I knew after dealing with car problems & a long walk neither of us would feel like doing anything too involved for dinner so I grabbed 2 frozen pizzas, some burrata & basil to jazz them up with, a couple of bottles of vinho verde & a six pack of beer. With all that, the coffee & a few odds & ends, it ended up being four bags of stuff.
When I made it to the parking lot, I got another call from my queen. She was at the auto shop & wanted to know if I could come get the dogs. The auto shop was on the route home anyway so I trekked the mile to it & picked up the dogs. Luckily, my queen had two of those big, sturdy “bag-your-own” grocery bags in her trunk which made carry groceries & managing two dogs a lot easier. With that sorted out, the boys & I headed home.
This is a photo I took when we were within about 1 mile of the house. That’s a nice little neighborhood park across the street. The dogs were starting to flag a bit at this point but they are troopers & made it all the way home with smiles on their tired little faces:
Pizza Dinner. I had just gotten them in the oven when my queen finally got home. Here they are ready to eat:

George Tindale Memorial Gardens walk - 201/365
George Tindale Memorial Gardens walk – 201/365
Just down the road from Alfred Nicholas Gardens we discovered the George Tindale Memorial Gardens. While this other park was a bit smaller it was great fun to explore. So many windy paths and corners to see. It wasn’t busy at all compared to when we visited the Alfred Nicholas gardens.
It is dog friendly and even has a cute drinking fountain right at the entrance complete with water bowl for your…

Adventures In Blackouts I got home last night from the heat, back seat of a car. Blackouts and whack routes got me home last night.
