New year Resolutions, everyday Intentions... Lately I have not had something that I really wanted to share until today. I still don’t have it clear if it is just a matter of rebellion against what is the rule or if it is a real deep questioning about the meaning of things that I have just learned to celebrate without actually having a deep connection with them. New Year, together with my Birthday, used to be for me the most important celebrations of the year, but slowly it has been changing, and it is until now that I am able to see it. This recent new year I had a nice yoga practice with my love and a dinner at home with some friends and my mother. We cooked, ate and laugh, but I didn’t do any special ritual. On January 1st we taught a special class which was for me a great ritual for opening space to see clearly and setting up determination and direction, but after we finished the class I just realized how deeply my perceptions have changed. Everyday is a new beginning, as far as we can see it and believe it. Intentions and resolutions work if we set them everyday and allow them to be transformed, to grow, if we don’t get attached to what we expect from them. It is not something that happens only the first day of the year and magically our lives will be transformed. It was not until January 2nd, when I was doing my asana practice that I understood that the satisfaction of achieving some goal, such as gating to do a challenging posture like Vrschikasana, is nothing compared to the sublime feeling of being alive! Goals are just directions. Sometimes I achieve them, sometimes I don’t, and I enjoy them both. But what I is truly fulfilling for me, is to feel in every single cell the miracle of being alive! . 🎥video still by my beloved @fotosbyboca #yogaisequanimity #mayallbeingsbefree #newyearresolutions #everydayintentions #sankalpa #intention #bliss #vrschikasana #scorpionpose #armbalance #luanafarayoga (at Balance Yoga Studio)
