look everyone my transformation into greasy orange Other Girls meme is complete:
conclusion: If I put on makeup I can look EVEN ANGRIER wow dang and also my undereye circles will never go away ever
okay my eyes are starting to sting time to wash this shit off (my makeup is probably terrible and old ngl that is probably a large part of my discomfort)
So I thought I would make a list of a few of the people I follow, because they're cool peoples.
threewordphrase - Very funny webcomic artist and apparently works on Adventure Time.
lupinism - The reason I started playing Minecraft and probably the reason I started watching Starkid.
berlinconfidential - Supernatural novel in the works, which I finally caught up on and it is super exciting.
everydaypanic - Co-author of Berlin Confidential who I have been following forever, maybe eight years? First on LiveJournal, now here.
snakewife - Webcomic artist, scientist, loves Homestuck and dead things. I often have to check a post to see whether it was made by her or berlinconfidential / everydaypanic.
lookatthislittlething - Tiny things.
fuckyeahbabyanimals - Cute animals.
Dan & Phil
And for some shameless self-promotion ilovefoodthatlookslikeotherfood, my blog for food that looks like other food.
Character design for Everydaypanic's LADY HEIST jam!
Marita Morgan, the Point Woman. She has a respectable day job doing fundraising and charity work and a general "just when I thought I was out they pull me back in" attitude towards this whole heist business. Other than being grumpy towards her old acquaintance the Mastermind, Marita is not exactly the Sassy Black Woman archetype so much as she dresses intimidatingly well to get people to take her seriously, and she is cheerful and easygoing with her friends, who she will pretty much do anything for, though it pains her to admit that.
Her pet causes are campaigns to end street harassment because as a fat-positive WOC she has way too much personal experience with it. Also because of this she is scarily good with a knife, if the situation is dire enough.
Now that everyone has theirs, I'm posting a picture of the friendship bracelets I made for myself (whore), avalonauggie (quim), everydaypanic (fuck), and allwayshallways (bastard).
And I haven't gone to bed yet so therefore it's still tuesday.
Deck: World Spirit Tarot
I ended up laying these down unusually for me, right to left, so I think we could safely read them as chronological, only the progression is not in the direction we expect. (IS THAT A METAPHOR FOR SOMETHING LARGER?)
First up, Three of Swords. That is a really damn hopeless looking Three of Swords, I must say. It also, for whatever reason, reminds me of Twin Peaks. Like, petroglyph-looking map and a creepy figure in a mirror and emotional and mental anguish and the long hallways of the Great Northern. Dale Cooper battles with heartbreak. I'm just throwing that out there.
(friends in case it is not already obvious, I have not become fast friends with the World Spirit yet and I'm still figuring out how best to read it. Also the cards are difficult to shuffle in my tiny baby hands)
Moving on to the middle card, the Seven of Pentacles invites us to take a pause in our endeavors and LOOK AT YOUR LIFE, LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES. It is a state of rest between stages of effort and completion, in which you take stock of your accomplishments and gather yourself for the things you need to do to reach your goals. What I personally find super cool about the imagery here is that the satyr (as the book calls him) is really a textbook perfect depiction of Cernunnos, what with the weird folded leg posture and the snake in the hand and the goat and the deer antlers. What the heck! That leg and goat combo is also really Gaulish Mercury. (see here and here and this is a non-flash glarey pic of the card here)
Lastly there is the Sun, which is so relentlessly positive I have a hard time taking it seriously. which maybe says something about me, but man. That is a lot of happy shiny people holding hands-feeling going on there. Also in this deck it is a baby coming out of a flower and the baby has a creepily adult head. Look at that thing. What the hell man.
So okay we can look at it chronologically, you've gone through some heartbreaking emotional pain, you have felt utter despair. And now, perhaps, you're in a state of limbo, but you have the opportunity here to gain an excellent perspective on the work you've done in the past and plan how you want to proceed in the future. The future, by the way, is going to be so bright you have to wear shades.
That sounds about right, if maybe a bit bland. I dunno, I need to get a better handle on this deck. What say you, honey?
