Large groups of migrants for the last few weeks seeking asylum to the United States from a variety of shelters and in the Chaparral “La Esperanza” border camp in Tijuana, Mexico have been given the green light to cross into the U.S. to have their court cases reviewed. Helping with these cases are multiple migrant activists and immigration lawyers that have handpicked these groups of asylum seekers that may have a chance in a U.S. court, which could grant the migrants a chance or even a second one into asylum programs that were once dismissed or denied under a Trump Administration policy that forced them to wait in Mexico for court hearings. The Biden Administration through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said on Tuesday that these asylum seekers may return for another chance at humanitarian protection which under that criteria, it is unclear how many people will be eligible to be released into the country pending on decisions made in a case-by-case bases. It is a move that could benefit tens of thousands of migrant hopefuls which have been waiting for months and even years in Mexico with no recourse or set plans. — Throughout the morning and in the afternoon many families and individuals were waiting their turn to cross the San Ysidro Port of Entry pedestrian entrance into San Diego, California from the Tijuana side on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
