You've been on my heart a lot lately but I haven't felt it was my place to ask about it since I don't know you well. Hearing how you're trying your best to keep your mental health a priority is so good. You're on my list of people I'm praying for.
Thank you dear, I really appreciate your support. I feel so alone most days outside of tumblr, you guys are my safe place.

I have been looking for info on how much speed you can gain over time with running but I can't seem to find anything. I'm looking to set a time goal for a half marathon at the end of the summer but I'm not sure how much speed I can gain during that time. Do you know of any good resources or have any experience with that? All I know is you're crazy fast - maybe you've always been that way! Anyway, thank you in advance.
I use the McMillan pace calculator a lot. I plug in a recent race at one distance, and it gives me an estimate of all the other distances. These calculators assume you’ve trained appropriately for the target distance, so you couldn’t just go out and run the marathon time based on a 5K race.
If you’re talking about how much you can improve at a particular distance, that’s much harder to figure out. You’ll likely improve quickly if you’re just starting. It then takes more effort to speed up as you approach your body’s limits. For example, I feel like I’m killing myself right now to take just 20 seconds off my 5K time. But a year ago I jumped like a minute and a half without doing anything different.
I usually set conservative goals for my races and then train towards those times. If I seem to be exceeding the training goals by a lot along the way, I’ll bump up the target. Looking at some of my recent races, that works out to ~3% improvement in my time depending on the distance.
