I'm thinking about Sukuna coming back after months away to discover his wife pregnant.
He walks up the steps of the temple, seeing the two familiar forms of his most loyal servant and his queen awaiting him. Yet the closer he gets, the more Sukuna notices the differences in you.
Mainly, that you are fat.
The King of Curses looks down at your rounded belly, plainly confused. Uraume greets him with a bow and you smile at him nervously.
Sukuna looks from your belly to your face, plainly asking: "What is this?"
You shift on your feet. "I'm... pregnant." You declare, resting a hand over the curve of your baby bump.
Sukuna stares at you, then narrows his eyes. He tsk's, crossing two arms across his chest.
"Amusing joke, wife. But that is impossible." He says dryly, unamused.
Sukuna had been with quite a few women in his life and had been with you for a long, long time, and never once in all these years had any of them– or you– gotten with child.
And believe me, Sukuna had been thorough in his attentions. Enough that, if he were a normal man, he'd surely have an army of bastards.
But he wasn't. Therefore no children. Which meant you couldn't be pregnant.
You give him a tight smile. "It's not a joke. I haven't bled since you left. And also, this." You gesture to your belly like he could've missed it.
He huffs, baring his teeth in slight annoyance. Your insistence was annoying, because Sukuna knew he couldn't have gotten you with child...
... which meant somebody else had.
The thought hits him like lightning, and Sukuna feels... hurt. But then he discards it. No, you were many things, but stupid you were not. You wouldn't have laid with another when he was away. There weren't even any other men here!
Turning his gaze to Uraume, he arches a brow in question. They incline their head.
"The Lady speaks truth, my Lord. I was there when she first was sick, when she first mentioned she'd missed her monthly blood. And the Lady has not stepped foot out this temple since you left." Uraume said, and Sukuna knew what they weren't saying to remain polite: You hadn't cheated on him.
With a frustrated sigh, he rubbed his temples. He didn't even consider you might be carrying his spawn. Because why now of all times? He'd been with you for decades.
With growing annoyance and too tired from his travels, Sukuna guides you indoors, deciding he'll leave this matter for another day.
As the days, then weeks, pass, Sukuna observes your pregnancy with disinterest. At this point his only theory is that you're one of the rare few capable of breeding with curses and that, in his absence, one managed to take you. The thought made his lip curl and anger rise. Should he encounter the being who dared to do this, he'd ensure they never were reborn in this or any era.
Despite his theories though, you insisted the babe was his. He didn't encourage your beliefs, but didn't refute them either; Sukuna had seen how happy you were and didn't want to ruin it yet. It was inevitable to end when the child was born.
And while Sukuna didn't believe it was his spawn growing within you, he could admit you looked divine whilst pregnant. Motherhood suited you, even if it came from such unfortunate circumstances.
Finally, the day came that your labours started, and Sukuna remained close throughout, knowing you'd need his strength when you discovered all your hopes had been for nought.
Yet when the child is born– a boy– he has fluffy pink hair, your eyes, and five eyes.
Sukuna stares, dumbstruck.
"Told you." You say tiredly, smiling as you breastfeed your newborn. "Looks like you, huh?"
Sukuna nods dumbly, leaning closer to observe the little one. He'd... he'd actually impregnated you. All this time...
He couldn't wrap his head around how or why, but almost immediately his confusion was replaced by pride and love.
He laughs quietly, watching the baby blink, eyes going in all sorts of directors.
"Yeah, he does." He says, holding a tiny palm between his fingers. "Looks more like you, though." He says happily.
