Rodolphus would never, ever hurt Mum. Ever.

I think he'd sooner swan dive off Azkaban than lay a hand on her. That's also assuming she would let him.

I've never seen Father hurt her.

He's been known to punish all death eaters when warranted. He has to. It keeps us strong, productive.

Passion must be the most that life has to offer. It is much different to learn, than to learn in passion. It is much different to do, than to do in passion. Even in love, there is loving, and then there is passion in loving. It's a part of the soul that is hard to uncover by the debris of life, but sometimes I think that it must be that passion is its own life, just kindly gracing my own.

Things Like Sunlight

Also, more than anything, I want people to feel the kind of wonderment and purpose that is to be found in pondering such topics as politics, history, art, and science. There is so much that is to be changed and evolved. There's so much to do and to know! The universe is huge!

  Even the sunlight still amazes me- I'll find myself thinking of it.

It takes eight minutes for cosmic light, the glow of a star, to travel from the surface of the sun to splash so weightlessly across my skin, and so brightly to my eye. That is amazing, right? I guess it is the nature of humanness to store the awesome reality of the universe in their minds as just an expected and all too usual thing. Cosmic starlight becomes just...the Sun.

I am guilty of that, but I do try very much not to be, as much as possible.

Rising Tide

I've been attempting to soothe my own soul the way the ocean soothes the shore,

Smoothing over all the dents and depths.

But the tide has been shy,  and I am no good at convincing such forces to reshape me. 

I think, maybe it would avoid me to teach me a lesson.  I thought that maybe, once I'd shaped my own self the first time,  I wouldn't have to start over again.

But life rolls like tides,  and so can the self; Strong, then Receding.

And now I start again.

I guess the trick is remembering who I was when I felt the most rightly like me.

Sometimes I wonder if the emotions I dream for really exist.

No matter how much you want to hope for something,  there will be nights when even your hope starts to lie to you.

You might wake up peacefully, and realize all of the things you were to afraid to admit to yourself,  just because going for it was such a great cover-up.

But the devil must love sleeping in wildflower meadows like the rest of us.   He must like the color of the sky.  I bet he admits that to himself sometimes too.

Sometimes you just wake up.
