In 2007, I came across this movie set in New York City about a group of struggling artists fighting to make it day-to-day. The music immediately grabbed me, with songs like “Light My Candle”, “Out Tonight”, “La Vie Boheme”, and “Seasons of Love”. However I had just gotten my first iPod and I didn’t know how to put music on it yet. When I found out you had to pay for the music, that wasn’t very helpful cause I had no money (this was before I learned about Limewire). So when I got my first iTunes gift card, the RENT OST was the first album I bought. For about a year, the RENT album was the only album I had on my iPod. Let me just say that I enjoyed a lot of shows at IHSTF 2016... but the 4th Graders Present an Unnamed Suicide took the cake for me.  It was utterly fantastic.

Theatre fest is a place where I can have so much fun while simultaneously feeling completely alone in the world. I feel myself falling in love with theatre again, but still hating the world community theatre in Peoria has become. Where can I bring this love when all I feel at home is the hate and spite?
