Updated Natural Everyday Makeup Routine
Over the months, my makeup routine has changed drastically. These changes have made my makeup appear flawless & airbrushed, the exact look I was going for. I get tons of compliments on my makeup, & you can too if you follow along.
PREP & PRIME:
To prep my face for my makeup routine, I first moisturize with my Pond's cream. I use the original blue top one for dry skin, since it is getting a little cold, this is the perfect cream for dry skin girls like myself
Once my face is moisturized, I let that sit for a moment just to soak all the moisture in then I prime with the SmashBox Photo Finish Smooth & Blur primer, this is great for smoothing out those pores and getting that airbrushed finish underneath your makeup
FACE:
Starting with my eyebrows, I use this powder that I received in a Boxycharm some months ago, but I'm pretty sure you can find it once you search it. It's called Brow Makeover Kit by Brow Bar by Reema & I love this powder brow palette. I use the medium palette because I am brown-skinned & I don't like my brows to be extremely dark. The palette can be a little dry so I like to spray the color that I'm using for my brows with a little setting spay, then proceed to fill in my brows to my preferred desire using a Morphe eyebrow brush.
Moving on to my foundation, I recently just switched from liquid to cream & I'm in LOVE. Best decision ever. Cream is just more easier to blend and gives me an airbrushed flawless look without making it seem like I have hella makeup on. I didn't really know how to shop for cream foundation, so a Sephora employee helped me & my first choice was going to be the Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in the shade Sable because it matched perfectly, it literally went on as butter and dissolved into my skin, but of course they were sold out, so I went with the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundation and it matches just as well. I love it.
Once my foundation is on, I conceal under my eyes, Cupid's bow, & nose with the TooFaced Born this Way concealer in the shade Chai with a beauty blender.
After my dark circles are concealed (LOL), I set everything with the Laura Mercier Translucent setting powder in the shade Translucent Honey, I didn't really want to get the lightest shade because I didn't want my face t be extremely "bright" when baking, & I didn't want to get the darkest shade because I wanted my face to have some light to it to make it seem as if I'm "awake", so the Honey shade is the perfect mix in between.
My makeup routine is pretty simple, I don't contour mainly because my face is pretty slim and I'd probably look like a skeleton if I were to, & because I don't really have the skills to perfect a perfect contour as well 🤣, so I definitely skip that step and go straight to my highlight with the Becca Cosmetics Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop which they discontinued the Becca Cosmetics line so RIP to her.
After the highlighter is on, I go ahead and set my face with my Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, WHICH I'M OBSESSED WITH. The packaging does not lie when they say: "Stay all day, Party all night".
LIPS:
Now we all know, lips are always the finishing touches in a girl's makeup routine & I typically go for a nude lipstick with a little gloss combo.
As a brown-skinned girl, who would I be if I didn't line my lips with a brown liner first (if you know, you know) & I don't use anything special, just the Sephora brand lipliner in the shade "Molasses"
For lipstick, I have 2 favorite nude lipsticks that are the perfect nude for my skin color, & are moisturizing. Those lipsticks would be Milani Matte Lipstick in the shade "Matte Nude" & Soap & Glory Sexy MotherPucker Lipstick in the shade "Super Nude"
As stated, I like to put a little gloss on the finishing touches and my go-to lipgloss for that would be Victoria's Secret "Candy Baby", literally the best sheer pink lipgloss there is.
That is all for my updated natural everyday makeup routine, I hope you all enjoyed this read.
xoxo, MissJaiDior
