I got a $20 mouse from EVGA. The scroll wheel is defective--it scrolls up and down at the same time in varying amounts, so sometimes it works and sometimes the scroll takes me back to where I started. Clearly a defect.

Firmware update and factory reset seemingly address it for a day but then it remains an issue. EVGA approves an RMA.

I look at the RMA terms. They won't send a replacement until they receive the defective product. I have to pay for shipping, packaging materials, and have to find someplace to print a label and pay for that.

The cheapest shipping is between $14 - $34. It'll cost more to send back a defective device than getting a new one.

That can't possibly be legal. And if it is, it shouldn't be. WTF?
