Valeria Kuznetsova
A few days ago, I mentioned that the Mariinsky recently hired Valeria Kuznetsova, a 2023 Perm Ballet Academy graduate. She won silver at the MIBC. On June 11, she performed the White Swan PDD with Evgeny Ivanchenko. I really read into the pairing here. She's fresh out of school and he's got a 30-year career. Is the suggestion some kind of old guard, new guard mash-up. I don't know.
BUT, here's a video of that adagio. Even with the partnering bobbles, you can tell that she is very promising. It's hard to really judge just from a divertissement evening, but her arms and fluidity are just lovely. I'm very curious to see her in the upcoming season.
