Confess!
Send me a "Confess" and I'll write a drabble about one character confessing to the other
As Luna and Evie sat in her living room, nail polish scattered on the coffee table and a movie on T.V., the butterflies flapped furiously in her stomach. While the revelation had been recent, she wasn’t sure what Evie would think of it. Would it be too weird? Would she be alright with it? Luna didn’t really know how to stop how she felt at this point, but she did value Evie’s opinion. And the reason for her usual butterflies was the father of her kid. Luna didn’t want to mess anything up there with their family unit just because her heart happened to beat extra fast around him. She wanted this to be okay. “Hey, Evie,” she said slowly, quietly, not sure how to start. Luna focused on the nail she was currently coating over, and over, and over again. “I, uh...I’ve been wanting to tell you something, because...well, I don’t know if it’ll be weird or not.” She took a deep breath, hoping she was making a big deal out of nothing. After another beat of silence, she continued. “I wasn’t sure what it was at first, and I swear I just thought of him as a friend since the day we met, but...I think I have feelings for Wyatt, and I’m not sure what to do about it.” There. It was out there now. “If it’s not okay with you, then I won’t do anything. But if it is okay, then...then I think I want to see where it goes. I want to see if this could be what I think it could be.”
“ i needed to learn how to never be afraid again. ”
Luna nodded, trying to register everything that Evie had even been through. To have Mason with her on top of that? Luna didn’t know what she would’ve done in the same scenario. “I understand why you wanted to, but I hope you know it’s okay to be afraid. You’re really strong, Evie, and no amount of fear can change that.” She rested her head against the woman’s shoulder, holding back a heavy sigh. No one should ever have to go through that amount of pain, especially someone as nice as Evie. The world could be a cruel place, and Luna hoped that maybe one day, they would all get a well deserved break from it’s tragedies. She hoped that one day, they would all find peace.
“ i told you! why didn’t you listen?! ” (lazy, so from lola)
“Because I didn’t think you were going to be like that,” Luna replied coolly. She took a deep breath, focusing on a nearby tree so she could collect herself. She tried to respect that Lola didn’t like to be around people. She tried to slowly help her get used to town again without making it overwhelming. If she preferred her solitude to anything else, then that wasn’t a bad thing. But sometimes, they had to interact with people, and the first response to something she didn’t like couldn’t always be yelling and violence. And Luna was tired of being afraid to say anything back for fear of Lola lashing out at her, too. They were supposed to be friends, right? Friends shouldn’t have to be afraid of friends. “I can’t just listen to you because the only other option is you being rude, okay? I’m sorry, but I can’t.”
♖: Having their hair washed by your muse
“You know, you really didn’t have to do this,” Luna said, her head leaning back against the bathtub as Evie lathered her hair with fruit-scented shampoo, fingers combing through the strands in a soothing motion. She’d offered to do this for Luna as a part of a much needed girl’s night, with lots of baking and lots pampering to try and do something fun after Spring Fling, but Luna thought that meant doing each other’s nails and wearing avocado masks. This just felt like next level spoiling, though, the warm water relaxing all the stress away. “At least let me wash your hair next? I think I have some shampoos that you’d really like.”

[voicemail]: Hey, Evie! I’m at the store right now and was wondering what size Mason was? I just passed a shirt that says ‘Little Nugget’ and I can’t resist buying it for him, but I don’t know what size to get. Call me back when you get this, and if you don’t, then no worries. I also picked up an extra tube of cinnamon rolls, just in case the pies don’t fill us up. Love you and see you soon, bye.
