15 Dialogue Prompts #4 for LUCLEX!!!!
4. “Fuck you!” “When? Where?” -i changed the dialogue a bit sue me ALSO i like changing characterizations for fun we on a new earth babes
It’s one thing knowing the multiverses exist. It’s another thing to travel through the multiverse. Because if Lucy could describe it as one word, it would have to be: trippy.
The bag gets pulled off of her head and squints at the sharply blue hue immediately. Her eyes aren’t adjusting well to the new Earth she finds herself on and it’s a lot worse when she immediately gets captured by some rogues after getting separated from Kara and Alex.
Lucy tries to blow her hair out of her face because her hands are handcuffed to the metal desk in front of her.
The door clicks open and in walks Alex, who looks completely different from before she stepped into the portal.
“Alex, thank god you’re here,” Lucy throws her head back in relief. “What the hell is going on? Why do you look so different?”
Alex raises an eyebrow at Lucy, assessing her as if she’s seen a ghost. The scar down her eyebrow moves with her face. She looks taller and slightly bigger in a thick black wool great coat with a metal feature on her shoulders pads and its cinched around her waist with a broad metal belt. The only other significant decoration is a broach with illegible symbols on it.
She doesn’t say anything, instead she walks around the table to Lucy’s side. The fur cap she’s clutching is dropped on the table and her hand comes up to caress Lucy’s cheek.
Lucy’s eyes widen at the intimate touch. “What’re you doing?”
Alex doesn’t say anything. The look on her face is eerily impassive, almost completely devoid of emotion by design. Despite this, her hand is warm as she cups Lucy’s face. “So strange,” she murmurs, her voice is almost like gravel. “You died in my arms and yet, you’re here.” Her thumb brushes Lucy’s lip slowly. “Almost exactly the same.” There’s a strange reverence in her voice.
There’s a shiver that shoots through Lucy’s body and the moment Alex’s thumb passes Lucy unconsciously licks her lip, feeling the cracking skin. There’s a dawning realization, the horror that this isn’t her Alex. Not that Alex was hers, but that this wasn’t the Alex she knew to be hers. From her world. Lucy swallows thickly.
“You’re not mine,” Alex’s hand slips underneath her chin and forces her to look up. Lucy tries not to flinch at the sudden aggression, the shaking anger in her voice. “How are you here? Why are you here?” The brown in her shining eyes goes dark as she leans into Lucy’s space threateningly.
Lucy swallows thickly. “We’re here to stop the Monitor,” she admits. Because even if this isn’t her Alex, even if she’s a bit scary (and sexy), it’s still Alex. They’d always have the same goals as each other.
Alex tilts her head with deep interest. “The Monitor?” she mocks to Lucy’s surprise. “You think you can stop the Monitor? You’re not from here at all.”
Lucy’s face falls. Oh. Oh. “Fuck me...” Lucy curses with wide eyes at Alex. Out of all the universes she’s fallen into, it’s the one place where they must’ve been bad guys. And this is not good. This is a no good, horrible, terrible day and Lucy has a feeling it’s just going to keep getting worse unless she finds her way out of here.
Alex has a Cheshire like grin on her face and she moves her hand to the back of Lucy’s neck, nails scratching at an extremely sensitive part of her body that her Alex definitely wouldn’t know about. She clenches her jaw to stop herself from letting out a sound as her stomach does a swooping sensation.
“When and where?” Alex taunts, her nails digging just a bit more into Lucy’s flesh.
Lucy shivers. This is definitely not how she expected her day to go.
