i can't believe it took me this long to get on the kpdh train btw. it's an homage to an industry that absolutely possessed me when i was an overly passionate high schooler but it also has a grounded critical lens on it that reflects the reasons why i fell out of love with k-pop as i got older. it's about a hot woman anxious perfectionist angst magnet who goes through an extensive coming-out metaphor that ends with her holding hands with her two (also hot) weird girl best friends. the songwriting and lyrics are brilliant and seamlessly weave together western pop, k-pop, AND musical theatre. korean culture and asian representation are pervasive throughout the production team and the design and heart and soul of the film. the hot women are casually unbeatable in Melee Combat. hello?? where have i been????

after spending some time on twitter i rly think one of the most standout features of tumblr is tagging for blog organization. having the ability to categorize your own and other ppl's old posts shows that there is intention for looking back at past content, so you can more meaningfully curate your blog and it also encourages recursive posting and revival of old content. twitter on the other hand, i post smth and two days later i'm never finding it again. and twitter has no intention of allowing me a way to find it again. bc the point is to get an immediate dopamine rush from the content ppl are currently posting, and then that content disappears into the unsearchable void and you have to go find new content. tis so fucking wretched
