Lived long enough to become the villain

Henry shut the door behind him, and everyone in the room froze in place, not of their own free will. The clock stopped ticking on the wall, and the silence was deafening without it. He grinned, illuminated by the horrible light from the foggy dusk outside.

"I’m sorry," Henry murmured, a faint smile on his face. The lock clicked on the door, and he reached forward, laying a hand on their shoulder. They unpaused and looked up at him, terror plain in their face.

"It looks like your time has run out," Henry said lowly. He grinned.

100 Expressions - C - Chagrined (McNamar, Henry)

AN: I'm posting 14. Chagrined separately because this has graphic terrible torture, and I haven't written 15-19 yet but I'm kinda hoping that they won't be this terrible...This is in the same universe as 12. Brooding...basically this is the kind of worse end that would have happened to John McNamar if he had gone after Abraham instead of Ann.  Remember, in the book, Abraham might have lit the fire but Henry set everything up for him (without any prompting) and only ended it when Abraham, crying, asked him to.

. Chagrined: humiliated or disappointed, and John McNamar was definitely humiliated by Henry (as well as disappointed by Ann), I swear I did not intend there to be so much graphic terrible torture when I started but it wrote itself (I just can't see Henry being more merciful than this, in this circumstance).  The entire scene is just what Henry did to John, for the Abery and Ann stuff read or reread 12. Brooding, you won't miss anything if you don't read this.  And oh, you should definitely NOT read this if you are under...um, 16. Go look at pictures of bunny or read healthy mutually respectful smut fics.

Last Warning: If you read this, you might not be able to stomach oven baked meat for a while, Henry basically had McNamar cooked to death okay.

14. Chagrined

Naked and half-blinded, McNamar tripped and stumbled repeatedly as Henry herded him with rough shoves and propelling kicks.  The noonday sun was burning in blisters that boiled over his entire body and cracked open on his chagrined face, the sun was everywhere, and then it was not.

Down a shaft, almost as narrow as a well and just as deep, John McNamar landed on some lumpy debris that felt like wood bits or hard dirt.  The falling oil lamp illuminates those lumps to be coal, and then McNamar started to scream.

He jumped and jumped from the nest of flaming coals till it consumed his feet. He gorged deep groves into his prison walls with his sharp claws, but he was too unskilled with them to maintain any hold.

The steady burning fire cooked McNamar's legs till its flesh slid off and its charred bones snapped, letting McNamar fall down on his front, the heat eating up his face and genitals as Henry poured water over his back, keeping McNamar's brain cooled, keeping McNamar conscious.

Watching above the earthly inferno with an impassive face, Henry alternated his attention between his pocketwatch and the water jug, untill McNamar's heart was cooked and his blood was gel, and his body shook no more, and John McNamar was no more.  Carefully putting all of the fire out first, Henry covered up his execution chamber with dirt and rock, the first shovelful caving in McNamar's blackened shell.

The sun was about to set, and Henry must find Abraham dinner.
