Time lapse of  “I survived...”

“I survived...” One of the first drawings I started in 2021 and the last one I finished. Timelapse: ||link|| ~sketch and text below~

Started this drawing in January, almost finished it in May because of a February/March art block... but then I accidentally deleted the Clip Studio Paint app from my tablet which also deleted any original files that weren’t in the cloud.

Fortunately this was one of the drawings that was also saved in the cloud, but it was an earlier version so I was still discouraged after losing 30 minutes of hard work...

sketch After picking up the drawing again after some time I was lost, because this being a drawing from early in the year means it has few folders and lots of unnamed layers... And then I also wanted to fix and add a lot of tiny things because I think I’ve improved since I started this drawing in January. This drawing depicts the scene when Evil Adio turns back to his normal self but I took a lot of artistic freedom. The scene wasn’t even written yet when I started this drawing but coincidentally, Adio did end up losing his upper half of his armor in canon because he’s an idiot. But actually I drew both of them in just their blue chainmail because of the red colors of their full armor and I think the hug would feel more intimate without the big red armor.

Using seasalt with the watercolors.

I thought that expression was a bit too cool for Adio, so I decided to turn it into his evil version with red eyes.

His mouth is too low and my white gel pen doesn’t work (would have liked to add some highlights) but I like how it came out.

I created Adio in 2004, so it’s his birthday today

A sketch I did in July of this year. I like how the idea came out and would like to make a proper drawing of this one day, but as of now only Adio’s outfit has a full body design/reference. (None of these characters usually wear armor)
