Catra and Adora are on opposite sides in canon for most of the show so here they're still on opposite sides, but they've switched.

Self declared Queen of the Horde, Adora, grew up being told she was responsible for Catra and had to keep her in line; so when Catra abandons the cause and their dreams, it is Adora's duty to do whatever it takes to stop Catra being a problem.

The trouble is, Adora still loves Catra and can't hurt her. She believes she can convince Catra that they still belong together in the Horde, but the more damage Catra does, the harder it will be for Adora to be able to protect her from retribution. Adora's only option is to take her captive.

Catra does not see it that way.
